It's a great day for us today in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is independence day and our beloved country Nigeria is 55 years old.
Nigeria is
a very great country, blessed with a population of over 170 million people, wonderful landmass with the world's rarest flora and fauna and so great natural resources.
Beyond its vast resources is its unequalled human and intellectual resources, a large part of which still remains untapped,unexplored and underutilized.
No nation exists without its challenges but Nigeria's challenges appear rather peculiar and only almost unique in its self, but it all rises and falls on the hinges of leadership, value reorientation and self governance.
I will always maintain the view point that, the greatness of any nation is tied closely to the greatness of its citizens. Just as pan-africanism; the solidarity of Africans within and in the diaspora to build the Africa of our dreams will open up a whole new world for us all; we all are the solution to the challenges of Nigeria. A better world emerges when Nigeria rises to its true greatness. I believe in the greatness of Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

1 Samuel 12:13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.
The Choice of a Leader
It is always in the nature of a people to ask for a king and it is always in the jurisdiction of God to grant their request.
There is nothing like an ungoverned state. All through history there has always been a dire need for leadership no matter the form and this above all must come about by the choice of the people. However in all these, across all civilization there is always the important God factor.
God always rule in the affairs of men. This is why for every great civilization there is a visible hand of God since He is a God of order, It tells me He is interested in Leadership.
Imagine for a second there is no such thing as leadership, there will be utter disorderliness. The societal structures will degrade into total anarchy. This will eventually spell doom for humanity and there will be no advancement of any form.
God had order in mind by upholding leadership in every institution, be it from the most basic institution marriage, to the wider society. This is why when a society craves for a leader, God honors their request based on their own choice.
This is the reason why a great people has got to make a great choice in leadership because this eventually affects and determines the course of the whole nation on their journey to greatness.
In the country where I live, Nigeria in West Africa, these are very crucial times where the people's choice will count, as we are less than a week to the election date, my charge to everyone is to pray that God be involved in this process, and that every eligible voter exercise his or her voting rights on Saturday 28th of March, 2015. When you vote for the candidate of your choice, you can then wait for God's will to be done.
Let God's will be done,

NATIONAL ANTHEM (Arise, O Compatriots)
Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labor of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause;
Guide our leaders right;
Help our Youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
Today while attending our business opportunity meeting with a couple of friends, I began to reflect on the
prayer which we usually have at the opening and beginning of every meeting, we always sing the second stanza of the National Anthem of our great country (The Federal Republic of Nigeria),My patriotic thoughts have prompted my post for today.
From my thoughts and reflection on the national anthem which was adopted in 1978,there are many lessons to be learnt, but i will mention a few.The first stanza is a call to action while the second stanza is a powerful prayer for any country that would be great and flourish. I personally believe in the greatness of Nigeria.
I learnt in this anthem that the call to action came before the prayer.The call to action is a call to responsibility and to show personal leadership that will lead to our greater good as a country. This informs that when we do what is in our own power to do as individuals and as a nation, God will always fulfill His own part.
We cannot put the cart before the horse. You need to do your own part, we all need to contribute our own quota of work and value for the greatness of our beloved countries and for the greater good of entire mankind.
God bless Nigeria (and the world at large)!
