RISE TO GREATNESS : BEGIN TODAY!

Many desire greatness and just a few really aspire to achieve greatness, you are among this few who both desire and aspire. However, we all wait till the perfect day, the perfect time and moment where we begin to rise to greatness, we dream of a time when we are bolder, stronger and ready. However the 'perfect' time never seem to happen, you have to create it and make it happen.
Seize the moment, you are stronger, bolder, more powerful and ready than you were yesterday.Today is your day and now is the moment to rise to greatness.
It's always our desire to rise to greatness, your desire for greatness is the possibility of the greatness in you seeking manifestation. According to John Steinbeck, “It is the nature of man to rise to greatness if greatness is expected of him.”
There is greatness in you and it is your destiny to be great.Today is your day, Now is your moment.Begin today, start now to rise to greatness.
Put the touch of greatness and excellence into every word and every act, by doing uncommon things in excellently great ways, constantly improving and innovating.
Today is the day you rise to greatness. And with this awareness we will advance with unusual power and raise our very existence to its next level of excellence.

To your Unlimited Greatness!

MOVIE REVIEW : LESSONS FROM BEING MRS ELLIOT

MOVIE REVIEW: LESSONS FROM BEING MRS ELLIOT
A particular day in September last year, I was at the cinema with my Special One, to see a movie but fortunately, it started before we got there, so we chose to see a new Nigerian movie and I must say we did not regret seeing the movie. It was so interesting that we reviewed lessons from the movie together. So reaching to my my archive I share in brief lessons from Being Mrs Elliot starring and co-produced by Omoni Oboli.

1. Conflict in personalities and unresolved differences will always affect the relationship later on. We see this from what happened to Lara and Bill’s marriage.

2. Money cannot buy love, a loving relationship is solely built on deep understanding, maturity and patience e.g Isawuru was patient with Lara- who was to him Angelica, to come to terms with the situation and start seeing his love for her.

3. Friendship and family relationship: The types of friends you keep, affect the quality of opinions you receive and in turn decisions made or actions taken. Lara was always taking wrong decisions based on the wrong advise received from her friends.

4. Dreams indeed come true: Dreams always come to pass or to reality. Be careful the kind of dreams you have and the people you share your dreams with. Isawuru’s dream of a beautiful wife out of the blue came to pass- perhaps one of the fantasies from Nollywood- but life itself can be full of a handful of surprises.

5. Truth delayed or concealed is dangerous as a time bomb: It’s always good to share any withheld truth, the earlier it’s done the better. Fisayo chose to play the role thrust on her rather than opening up on time on her true identity even after the plastic surgery imposed and done on her.

6. Be true to who you really are: In life you can either choose to play along, act out the part or define and be true to who you really are-this is a lesson in identity.

7. Any trouble that can be avoided initially is best avoided initially. We felt probably Bill would have done better and avoided a lot of troubles by not having a female P.A and if he were to have a female P.A like he did, he could have clearly defined the boundaries.

8. Law of Karma. If you sow evil, be ready to reap evil and if you sow good seeds you reap the good harvest. The Senator got paid in his coins for killing Fisayo’s boyfriend.
Once again I kudos to the producers of this movie Being Mrs Elliot, it’s another nice one from Nollywood.

Cheers!

STAY TRUE TO YOUR DREAMS

STAY TRUE TO YOUR DREAMS

"When you reach an obstacle, turn it into an opportunity. You have the choice. You can overcome and be a winner, or you can allow it to overcome you and be a loser. The choice is yours and yours alone. Refuse to throw in the towel. Go that extra mile that failures refuse to travel. It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure." --Mary Kay Ash

Your dreams are the pictures of the future. Your Dream is the ticket to the great life you have always imagined. It is the map for the realization of the master plan. It is the blueprint for the execution of the grand design.
Almost everyone has a dream; but not everyone has got a goal.A goal is usually a dream with a time line.
When you have a dream, it is very important you stay true to the dream, because many times, a lot of forces militate against the achievement of your set goal. Winds, Oceans, Strong winds and Rivers...Through it at all we need to be tough and strong until we reach the finish line. You need to be bold and fight hard at everything that would try to stop you from achieving your dreams.
Stand up and Make it happen, you dreams are God's gifts to you and you owe your world all it takes to make it happen!
If you stay True to Your Dreams and Never ever give up, your wildest dreams will come to pass.

Be inspired!

BOOK REVIEW: THE STORY OF HELEN KELLER

I read this book about Helen Keller at the NYSC orientation camp at Ise Emure Ekitit State on the 30/11/2011 I still refer to it as the greatest inspirational story I read at the Youth Camp. In this short review I share lessons from this great woman.
Helen grew up without the sense of sight and sound but eventually learnt to conquer this and became a poet, author and a great inspiration to the world.
Here I share lessons learnt from the wonderful story of Helen Keller
1. We give up so much more by giving up.
2. The key of persistence will open the great door of impossibility no matter how long you try.
3. Everything has a name you might not just realize it yet!
4. The greatest key in her life was the strong desire and her unbeatable passion for learning. She knew what she wanted and would never be defeated before or while fighting for it.
5. She met and had contacts with many great people of her time, like Presidents of United States; President Cleveland and President Eisenhower, Mark Twain, Dr. Dale Carnegie, some Harvard Professors,Instructors and her personal Teacher; Ann Sullivan.
6. She refused to pay attention to what others would say about her disabilities or how she chose to rise above them, she refused to attract pity or pampering, and she chose to reach out to what God has for her in the Universe.
7. Most times our destinies which we must fulfill, lie in seemly unachievable and impossible realms, which we just must reach to take hold and make happen, for the greater good.
8. Opportunities are knocking, mostly in the form of great dreams, a difficult offer, or a puzzle or a question which we must ask ourselves over and over to reach for an answer in our subconscious.

Stay blessed

USA
THANKSGIVING

It's about 6 Hours to Thanksgiving in the United States, here is how Telegraph puts it;

When is Thanksgiving Day 2015?
Tomorrow, Thursday November 26th, the fourth Thursday in November.
(On the east coast) Thanksgiving Day begins in:
00 : 06 : 06 : 58
Days Hrs Mins Secs
Thanksgiving Day traditionally kicks off the 'holiday season' in the United States. The day was set in stone by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 and approved by Congress in 1941. FDR changed it from Abraham Lincoln's designation as the last Thursday in November.
While Britons think of it as a warm-up for the Yuletide period, many Americans think it of it as just as important as Christmas.

In fact, more people in the US celebrate Thanksgiving than do Christmas. Thanksgiving Day is secular holiday in a country that officially separates church and state so this probably makes sense.
What is the history of Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving Day can be traced back to the 1621 celebration at the Plymouth Plantation, where the religious refugees from England known popularly as the Pilgrims invited the local Native Americans to a harvest feast after a particularly successful growing season.
The previous year's harvests had failed and in the winter of 1620 half of the pilgrims had starved to death.

Dikembe Mutombo: Atlanta Hawks retire number 55 shirt

Former NBA basketball player Dikembe Mutombo has been honoured by the Atlanta Hawks by retiring his shirt number 55.
Retiring a number is a mark of respect and means no player from that team will wear 55 in the future.
The 7ft 2in (2.18m) tall Democratic Republic of Congo player was discovered when he was studying at Georgetown University.
He was named an NBA All Star eight times before retiring in 2001.
He was also named defensive player of the year four times.

"I would have never thought that one day a son of the Congo would be here having his jersey retired," Mutombo said at the ceremony which was held during half time at the match between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics game on Tuesday.
In retirement, he plans to carry on his humanitarian work, which has included funding a new hospital in DR Congo's capital Kinshasa. source: Africa Live: BBC News updates

Tyson Fury serenades Wladimir Klitschko before title fight

Tyson Fury serenaded Wladimir Klitschko at a public workout on Wednesday, before Saturday's heavyweight world title fight in Dusseldorf.

Briton Fury, 27, will challenge WBA, IBF and WBO champion Klitschko, 39, at the 50,000 capacity Esprit Arena.

Fury dedicated his version of the Bette Midler ballad Wind Beneath My Wings to the Ukrainian, who was ringside.

"I'm not coming to Germany to win on points, I'm going to do a demolition job on Wladimir," said Fury earlier.

In response to Fury's latest antics, Klitschko said: "Tyson Fury belongs on Britain's Got Talent.

"I don't want to compete with him in a singing contest. I definitely won't make it. He has better talent than I do in singing." source: http://www.bbc.com

MONEY MASTERY: 9 Strategies To Become A Millionaire

9 strategies to become a millionaire, from everyday people who have done it

by Kathleen Elkins

It's a great day and on Financial Mastery session today, I like to share an interesting post from Business Insider. Enjoy and share !
Not all millionaires have a Hollywood tale of how they grew to be rich.

In fact, many millionaires out there are just like you, living modest lives in average homes and looking for ways to optimize savings.

Farnoosh Torabi spoke with several of these "millionaires next door" on her personal-finance podcast, "So Money," and asked them how they got to where they are today: with a net worth of $1 million or more before age 50.

Here's what the millionaires had to say:

Track expenses diligently.

Record each and every thing you purchase.
"Write out all of your spending and analyze it," Jeremy Jacobson and Winnie Tseng, whoretired in their 30s with multiple millions in the banktell Torabi. "Track your dollars. I guarantee you'll find something that either you didn't know you were spending your money on, or you felt was unnecessary."
Jeff Johnson, who reached $1 million with his wife, Amanda, when they were just 34,offers up similar advice: "We know exactly how much we spend on certain categories over periods of time ... Unless you have that data, and unless you're able to figure out how much you're spending on these categories, it's very hard to figure out where you are and where you want to be [financially]."

Establish clear goals.

Establish clear goals.

Talk about your savings goals with your significant other.
"One day Jeremy just came home and said, 'Winnie, do you want to go travel around the world forever?'" Tseng tells Torabi. "And then we started to plan on this. There was a specific goal that we wanted to achieve."
"We didn't have some sort of vague 'Let's retire 40 years from now' sort of goal," Jacobson continues. "We had a 'How do we get there as soon as possible?' idea driving this."
They changed their lifestyle immediately, started saving 70% of their income, and accelerated their retirement track to the point at which they could retire in their 30s.

Live simply and use less.

Live below your means.
Accumulating wealth often boils down to diligent saving and conscious spending. The millionaires next door simply choose to live modestly.
"The really big items that sink a lot of people are houses and cars," Darrow Kirkpatrick, who retired at age 50 with a net worth of $1 million, tells Torabi. He and his family live in a medium-priced home, which they paid off in 10 years.
Julie Rains, who achieved millionaire status by age 40, relayed a similar belief: "For me, living modestly — having a small house and not having a luxury car — really helped a lot. Keep those fixed costs low."
"Live below your means and invest the difference wisely," Kirkpatrick says. "Optimize the few things in life that really are important to you. Spend there by all means, but don't follow the crowd and spend on everything, because you can't optimize everything."

Avoid the financial noise.

Tune out financial noise.
"Yes, I do like to read and listen up on financial news, but I don't let those outside influences distract me," Johnson explains.
"When the stock market drops 200 points, I don't freak out and sell everything ... Don't let others — whether that's your friends, neighbors, or even your family — influence your spending behaviors ... Focus on how you want to behave, and don't be influenced by an outside force."

Be mindful when spending.

Learn to distinguish "needs" and "wants."
"Be thoughtful about each purchase," millionaire Luann Abrams says. "Is it really something that is going to bring you happiness, or can you let that go? Be mindful of where you put your money."

Be cautious when signing up for recurring expenses.

Plan ahead for recurring expenses, such as a gym membership.
"Watching out for recurring expenses is critical," Kirkpatrick says. "Any time you commit to a monthly expense — whether it's a mortgage, rent, car payment, gym membership, or magazine subscription — you need about 300 times that amount in an account, or an investment to pay for that expense over retirement.
"It's better to think of those recurring expenses as a really big number that you've got to save for, instead of some monthly bill. If you take on too many of those, you're basically locking in a lifestyle that you've got to support. It's not that they're all bad — you just want to be very conscious about taking on any regular expense."

Pay attention to employee benefits.

Pay attention to employee benefits.

In addition to salary, pay attention to employee benefits.
When you take a job, there are two big sides of the equation, Rains says: your base compensation and your employee benefits. "Pay attention to the employee benefits when you take a job," she emphasizes, from retirement plans to profit-sharing plans to health benefits.
Johnson emphasizes the importance of using your company's 401(k) plan from the get-go: "Whenever you get that first job, contribute to the 401(k), and get the full company match. If you can max out your 401(k), do it. We've been maxing out our 401(k)'s with our respective employers as soon as we possibly could."

Invest early and invest often.

The earlier you get started, the better.
"By investing early, you can accumulate wealth," Rains says. "You don't necessarily have to have a startup that gets bought by Google, or write a best-seller. Those things are great, but there are different paths to becoming wealthy."

Don't forget to spend where it counts.

Save diligently, but don't forget to enjoy your life.
"Yes we can be thoughtful, yes we can be frugal, yes we can track our spending — but at the same time, we have to live, and we have to enjoy things," Johnson tells Torabi. "We don't have to go out to eat every night, but we do have to go on vacations, take our son to the zoo, and do and experience new things ... It's great to save, but you also have to spend — you have to enjoy your life, too.
"Always try to focus on the journey — the day-to-day journey of life — rather than getting to a dollar figure or focusing on the next million."

BECOMING A MAN OF GOD

BECOMING A MAN OF GOD
Becoming a man of God is nothing that has to do with title, it is nothing that has to do with positions.God's will for us all is to become a man of God.Becoming a man of God is becoming an example unto believers.Doing things and saying things that are in line with God's rules.God wants to touch someone and he wants you to be his hands. A hand that shakes firmly a new friend or stranger a hand that pats a friend on the shoulders.

God wants to go out there and reach out to a lot of folks and He wants us to be his legs and go where He wants, He desires people that will speak for Him,
He wants someone who will "Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity." I Timothy 4:12

God wants someone who will do business on his behalf, raise kids, make laws, write songs, restore order and do all he wants on His behalf.
God wants His own man in every sphere and every nation and you can be that man when you choose to be an a great example everywhere you serve.Become a man of God.

To your utmost Greatness!

Spirituality Post: HATING WHAT JESUS HATES

SPIRIT MEAT DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY REV OLUSOLA AND REV OYENIKE AREOGUN, SUNDAY, 8TH NOVEMBER, 2015

TOPIC
HATING WHAT JESUS HATES
JOHN 6:12

One of the manifestations of the spirit of poverty is that it makes people hate the truth about prosperity. He blinds their mind from the revelation of abundance and calls it worldliness. If you will carry the spirit of prosperity, you must hate what Jesus hates and likes what He likes.  If the Lord Jesus was a typical Jew in his physical and economic life, he would not have been poor nor hated prosperity.

When you read the stories Jesus gave us: the story of the prodigal son, the story of the unprofitable servant, the parable of the Talents, the story of the rich young ruler, the story of the rich fool and the story of the boy with five loaves, there are certain things that were clear stated that Jesus hated:

1.He hated wastage: he said gather the fragments that nothing be wasted.

2.He hated selfishness

3.He hated greed

4.He hated lack of purpose

5.He hated irresponsibility: not responding to the ability you have. He spoke of that master servant story, if you know I was a hard man, why did you bury my talent? Why did you not trade with it and give me back my talent with interest?

6.He hated non-productivity: he cursed a tree that didn’t produce fruit. He hated no progress

7.He hated trusting in wealth

A poor man will trust in money. The spirit of prosperity makes you trust in God not in what you have. The spirit of prosperity makes you hate what Jesus hates so as to attract the right forces of wealth and prosperity into your life.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the baptism of the mind of Jesus as I behold you in the word of God today. Let grace be poured on me that I will have a perfect hatred for the things that Jesus hates so as to attract the forces of prosperity into my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Rehearsals and Great Performance

I have been working with my mentors and speaking coaches for about a week now concerning my next Speech Project; Vocal Variety. Vocal variety is the 6th  Speech Project in the Competent Communication Manual of the Toastmasters International.
These team of wonderful people who despite their busy schedules have taken out time to help hone my speaking skills and bring me to an alignment with my gift and  message;  This got to its peak in a 2hours rehearsal two days ago, all in readiness for a 7-minute speech. Their selfless effort and dedication emphasizes to me the invaluable need of a great rehearsal. Rehearsals are necessary for great performances.
A great performance  by a great Opera usually will take minutes but little or nothing is usually known of the days and hours of preparation that produces  a great performance.

Every great performance is achieved by a great team. Just like singing, speaking also shares a lot of similarities with such performances and the best rehearsals are those done in a group or supported by a team of people.

A reflection on this evinces the need for proper preparation and effective team work for the success of any endeavour. While I hope for my best performance so far, I won't stop pushing the frontiers of my improvement.

Keep improving!
