SPIRITUALITY POST: I BELEIVE IN TESTIMONIES

It's a wonderful Sunday morning and today again I will share share a spirituality post. While stepping out this morning, I noticed a Living Faith Church (Winners'Chapel) flyer on the floor, so I decided to pick it up to read. I always like to salvage gospel tracts on my way, I believe there is a seed of change in it- God's nonperishable word. You might want to pick up a tract from wasting too, it could save another reader's life.
So I picked up this tract/flyer that was an invitation to a programme- Convenant day of Prosperity and I decided to read, Lo and behold I was blessed by 4 wonderful testimonies. These testimonies like many others rekindle my faith in Testimonies. A testimony is like a key that unlocks our faith to receive all that God has in stock for us in a peculiar situation if God has done it for somebody he can do it for you too.Just believe and trust God
While it might not be convenient to share the exact testimonies I read from the flyer, This morning I will share some amazing testimonies from a couple of online sources; majorly RCCG Holy Ghost Service Testimony and Winners Chapel Abeokuta Testimonies (please see the sources after the post)

MIRACLE JOB
I've been born again and committed to the church I attend since 1991. Since then, I've been hearing about Living Faith but I've never heard Bishop Oyedepo's teaching or read any of his books. 31st of December, 2012 someone invited me here and I had the opportunity to listen to the Bishop's message. He spoke about blessings that lead to breakthrough, talking about parental blessings, priestly blessings among others. In January 2013, we became redundant where I work. My boss called me and said he was going to give me a 2-month contract (between February and March) which he might decide to renew or not at the end of March. Papa prophesied that the year 2013 shall be for us a year of divine surprises, next levels and miracle jobs. Therefore, any time I pray, I declare and echo those words. I got into the organization as an Account Officer, even though I read Marketing and I'm majorly a field person. I rose to the position of Administrative Officer where God prepared me for a better placement. Just 2 weeks ago, I got a job as a Human Resources Manager for a Lebanese company. To God be all the glory.
DENNIS

PREFERRED ABOVE 18 OTHER PEOPLE
Sometimes last year when I was transferred from Lagos to Ilorin, I didn't know God had something in store for me. On my arrival in Ilorin, there was a proposal at my office and about 18 of us were eligible for the position because we wore the same rank in the office. About 2 weeks ago, when God's servant in the house was preaching and was coming towards me, I said within me “how can I touch his clothes”, as he got to where I was seated, he touched me himself and I said “Yes, everything is settled”. When I got back to my station, out of 18 of us eligible for the position, I was picked to head that office. Secondly when I was in Lagos, about 4 of us were given houses (3-Bedrooms flat) in Abuja and we were asked to pay up for the houses. My wife and I got money and paid for the house. Before Shiloh, nobody was occupying the house but during Shiloh, I told God I want somebody there by Christmas. Immediately after Shiloh, I called my friend that is in charge of the house and asked about the place, he said the place has been occupied. Thirdly, last Monday God added another year to me; I return all the glory to Him.

Thank You JESUS.

PASTOR KING OLUWAMAYOWA ADEWUNMI Period: April, 2013

I thank God for the salvation of my soul. Daddy GO came to Kenya last year for 2012 East Africa Regional Convention and prayed for peaceful election in Kenya. The election was held in March 2013 and it was peaceful contrary to expectations of many people, when the result was declared, there was also peace in the country. Also a word of knowledge came during March 2013 SHGS that someone's health will surprise the doctor which l claimed, l went for cardiac-echo the following week based on referral by doctor, and when the result came out the Cardiologist said the result was normal and no cause for alarm. I took the result to the doctor and said it was a surprise. My breathing and blood pressure have been normal and doing what l could not do before since then. Praise the Lord Somebody!

7 SECRETS OF SUCCESS

Today's post is guest blogging.
I would like to share these 7 secrets of success a simple but very nice write-up I have recently read from Patric Chan. Learn more about Patric after the post.

7 SECRETS OF SUCCESS
by Patric Chan
1. Be Number #1

This rule of success is shown in almost every matter – strive to be #1 in whatever you do. The #1 winner’s reward is usually many times bigger than second place and so on. For instance, do you who’s the second person who walked on the moon? You don’t. You just know Neil Armstrong, the first guy who did that.

Sometimes, you may feel you cannot be #1 because you’re “not good enough”. Then it’s mainly because you haven’t found what you’re really good at and how you can sharpen that skill or talent. For instance…

If you’re working in the office, maybe you could be the #1 person who comes up with ideas?

If you’re running a restaurant business, could you be the restaurant that has the best desert? And so on. Get the idea. ALWAYS strive to be #1.

2. Celebration

Regardless of how small your success is, you’ll always need to celebrate for it. Not throwing a big party of any kind, but to acknowledge yourself that you’ve reached another milestone. Reward yourself. You need that to stay motivated and to ensure yourself things are going well for you.

3. Gratitude

If you’ve achieved success, I’m very sure you did not do it by yourself. There are always other people (directly or indirectly) who have helped you. be grateful to them. And of course, the one “person” who’s always been involved is none other than God. So be thankful.

4. Do Not Blame

In your pursue to success, you’ll be challenged by all kinds of obstacles. It’s easy to let go of responsibility and blame someone (or something) for the failure. Maybe blaming helps you to ease your frustration but sadly, that doesn’t help you to fix anything – at all. In fact, it WEAKENS you. And if the blame goes to other people, you’ll lose respect. The fact is, if the success is achieved, it’s YOUR SUCCESS. So if you think from that perspective, don’t you think it’s your responsibility since you’re the one who gets the lion’s share?

5. Lead

You don’t hear stories of successful people who are not leaders. It’s quite obvious that leadership is required in you to achieve success. As I’ve mentioned earlier, it’s unlikely for you to achieve success without someone’s help. For you to get the help, you need to have leadership. One of the best ways to become leader is not other than to lead by example.

6. Success Compounding

You start with small successes. Do not feel that you’re not growing because you haven’t reached your goal yet. The funny thing with success is this – if you’re persistent enough and doing the right things, success will come to you eventually. And if you “compound” it, it’ll just get faster.

7. Optimistic, Not Positive Thinking

Positive thinking helps, but it’s being optimistic that will see you through. Because if you’re just being a positive thinker, you may continue to do things wrongly. Why? Positive thinkers do not see any “negative” matters in things that went wrong.

If you’re able to immerse yourself with these 7 secrets, I can bet that you’ll achieve success quicker. And also, easier.

To your success,

Patric

MY CONVOCATION AND A SOFT DAILOGUE...

Beautiful Thursday Morning! Birthdays of Friends,my Uncle and a cousin. And amazingly it's the convocation day for my first degree, B. Tech (Hons) Electrical and Electronics Engineering, more interesting is the fact that i will not be attending(You see we were long due for this for about 3 years ago and right now it's the least of our priority- I mean Class 10-THE10PLATINUM). Yeah it starts in less than 2 hours ago at my Alma-mater Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso -Oyo state in Nigeria (Yeah! That's my Uni!). now that's about 4 hours drive from Lagos, given less traffic congestion. Well it's so short-notice and among other things, I have chosen not to attend,I would have loved to be there though..., I hope that drives me to attend convocation for higher degrees God willing...Anyways Happy Convocation to me, the class of 2009/2010, 2010/2011 and 2011/2012

The past few weeks have been so wonderful.I am continuously researching new contents and traffic strategy for my blog, while also having a line up of book reviews.
Talking about book reviews, I have a goal i kicked off on www.goodreads.com to read 100 books this year and boy! I am still 24 books behind schedule. That is a personal challenge I set for 2014 just couple of months ago.
Reaching this goal will help me flex my speed reading muscles, and thereby cover much space in my personal development plan.
I also hope to review not less than 50 books this year- that's an average of one book per week.
I have a long line up of them already! I feel excited about this.

While I have all these set, i hope to share more great contents (and sure some money making tips too ;) ) in the coming days, weeks and months from now.

Also along the line my 100 video challenge still stands and I hope to have an interesting video (already recorded) uploaded on my you tube channel by weekend. You can view other past videos on www.youtube.com/user/emmandus I might share some of my assignments from an online 6 week course on Public Speaking I am taking on an online portal. The course has been interesting and well taught by a Lecturer from University of Washington.
So today while i push more on the goal for my new book, among other events I will look forward to a great opportunity meeting at my MLM business and a great session at the Toastmaster's Meeting.

I toast to a wonderful workday and great appointments for the day!

WRITING FOR MY NICHE ; AFRICA IN RETROSPECT

It was a wonderful Tuesday morning- a great day! I knew it and I was so sure that I stepped out to write an article about it. It’s a wonderful Tuesday morning- Terrific Tuesday! Not only was I off work, at my ‘new’ job -with a much different shift schedule, rather, it was a Terrific Tuesday morning- a rainy day!

So I sat at the sofa overlooking the garden from a sliding door and started on an entirely new mission; to churn out 100 quality articles for my blog.

Writing an article for my blog is a very important thing to me. A vital aspect off my life it has come to be, writing to me is a medium of expression, a platform to share my message, a channel to reach out to my clan. With a piece of article I reach out to many, numbers and distance notwithstanding even without paying attention to the borders or barriers of language and culture. Thank God for Technology.
I might not write on the everyday political ills or the disasters and wars in the Middle East. I believe the news does much justice to that and sometimes blows out much out of proportion, for instance talk about the case of western media painting the whole Africa as a poverty-ridden continent and leaving out transformational leadership exhibited in a place like Lagos Nigeria, and the groundbreaking educational project like ‘Opon-Imo ‘ Tablets for Schools’ first rolled out in Osun state Or how can we forget what transformations are taking place in countries like Ghana compared to what they used to be over the years. Yet the spotlight of western media on Africa has not changed much, if at all!
No hard feelings but I believe Africa lies amidst so much wealth her past woes or present challenges notwithstanding. I am so sure it’s just a matter of time till the Generation Y, show great leadership as so many of them have started doing, I believe Africa isn’t where it used to be on the USAID, UN or WHO development indices - thanks to aids and policies bothering around that but so much more it owes it more to the leverage of transformational leadership finding their foot holds in some countries or nations around that.
So rather than dwell so much on the news, I dwell so much on Change. The positive change we all believe in and hope to see, not only in Nigeria or Africa, but in the world at large. I advocate personal change because I believe that is the birth place of all other societal changes. Then I move on to the need for Organizational change and development because that is like a cantilever that touches all lives together and can break transnational bonds. This approach to change is what I believe imbibes the present and upcoming generation –Generation Y with the necessary values necessary for unleashing personal greatness and birthing global change. This is the fulcrum that can lift the world.
So in revealing my mission of 100 articles in 100 days or less. I will solely write around my niche by that I mean all that relates to National and Global Change. I will keep to my assignment to inspire greatness and the world’s best ideas in business, leadership and Life. I am a student of this school of change rather than a master of it, so I as well share all that I learn by personal experience, through interactions with the masters of the field and above all from major intercourse with great minds from books. Hence my reasons for some book reviews on my blog.

Doing book reviews on my blog for me is a very wonderful thing. I have always had a passion for books and I always believe I will author so many of them. Once while reviewing a book , I remembered a group conversation I had with couple of friends in a course mate’s room while at the University. One of us had tried to speculate what he sees every one doing in the future and he looked at me and said with certainty, above all possible things “You will be doing book reviews” . He’s way too right! I went on to do some book reviews on my blog which I had started back in school then and they have nice exposures, I mean book reviews rank among the popular posts on my blog today. A book review makes you an active reader. You read with a view to sharing at some points with the cap of a critic and an analyst on. It’s a step in progress and I currently look to how to better my best at it.

Finally I have come to the end of what was supposed to be a 750 word article! Considering the fact I don’t do that! I always think how many Nigerian wants to read a piece more than a 350 word article? And I just wrote over 750 words without breaking a sweat!

Sunday Sizzle: Stay in the Game by Joel Osteen

It's a wonderful Sunday and today while trying to share some great stuffs on Spirituality, I decided to feature Pastor Joel of Lakewood ,I have chosen a post from Joel and Victoria's blog that resonated with an article I had written here a while ago,see Stay back in the Game, you can read it here, Stay back in the Game

Stay in the Game
by Joel Osteen

I was watching the football game a while back. One of the players had a broken hand and bruised ribs. He's a big offensive lineman and wasn't expected to play. The trainers wanted him to sit it out, but he wasn't about to miss the game. He had a big cast on his arm. He was wearing a special vest to protect his ribs. He was all bandaged up. He looked like a mummy. A reporter asked him how he felt. He said, "It's a little painful, but I'd rather be in the game in pain than sitting on the sidelines watching."

If you're going to become all God has created you to be, you can't let that injury, that hurt, that disappointment, that setback cause you to sit on the sidelines of life. You might need to take some time out, but do like this player. Bandage up what's hurting. Forgive the person who did you wrong. Let go of what didn't work out and get back in the game.

I saw a lady in our lobby one day that I hadn't seen for a long, long time. She's an older woman, very faithful. I said to her in passing, "Hey! I haven't seen you lately. Where have you been?"

She said, "Joel, I had to have emergency surgery, and I've been in the hospital for three months."

I said, "Wow! We're so glad to have you back. How are you doing?" For as long as I live, I will never forget her words.

She said, "I'm hurting, but I'm here."

Friend, that's the kind of people God rewards. Faithful people, people who are determined; people who get knocked down but don't stay down. You don't let the hurt, the pain, the bad break cause you to get bitter, lose your passion or start blaming God. No, like this lady, you stay in the game. No matter what life deals our way, our attitude should be, "I'm hurting, but I'm still here. A friend did me wrong, but I'm still here. Business is slow, but I'm still here. I didn't feel like coming, but I'm still here."

You've got to have a made up mind that you're going to stay in the game. You're not only going to be faithful as long as you feel perfectly well, as long as everybody treats you right, as long as it's sunny and cool outside. No, you've made up your mind, "I'm hurting, but I'm still coming. My boss did me wrong, but I'm still getting to work on time; I'm still being my best. My child won't speak to me. It's breaking my heart. I'm in pain, but I'm still singing in the choir. I'm still ushering each week. I'm still being good to a friend that's in need. I've still got a smile. I'm still giving God praise."

Anybody can sit on the sidelines. Anybody can find an excuse to be sour, to drop out, to give up on life. I'm asking you to stay in the game and let God lead you to victory!

"I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14, KJV)
