'But the word of God grew and multiplied.' Acts 12:24 King James Version (KJV)
God's Word can be likened to many things as seen in the Bible itself.
God's word is likened to light according to Psalms 119:105
The same word is likened to a double-edged sword in Hebrews 4 verse 12
It can be likened to Hammer, to Honey to Water among other wonderful analogies.
Also God's word is a seed according to Luke 8:11
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luke8:11 KJV
However, this short piece is based on the capacity and the potency of the word of God as a seed to grow and multiply.
God's Word is a seed and as such it means it can and it will always exhibit all the attributes of a seed If it is seen as such.
As it is seen from our text today, Acts 12:24, we see that the word of God 'grew and multiplied'
1. Growth: God's word is a living seed and like any living seed it is even more powerful and has the capacity to grow. Under the right conditions, given faith, a good, humble and teachable heart it will grow and produce the right results. That was the first challenge in the parable of the sower. in Mark 4:1-19 , finding the right atmosphere for the word to grow. We need to consciously create that atmosphere.
2. Multiplication: When the word grows, it has the capacity to grow mightily and multiply this is the phase achieved in the parable of the sower in Mark 4:20. This is more vivid when we look at the miracle of a grain of maize that grows and produces over 500 grains on a single cob after it was sown, and it usually has more than a single cob on a stalk. God's word can grow,produce and multiply much more beyond our imaginations.
Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.” Mark 4:20 (NIV)
The secret to achieving this level is to, "like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.” Mark 4:20b

NATIONAL ANTHEM (Arise, O Compatriots)
Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labor of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause;
Guide our leaders right;
Help our Youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
Today while attending our business opportunity meeting with a couple of friends, I began to reflect on the
prayer which we usually have at the opening and beginning of every meeting, we always sing the second stanza of the National Anthem of our great country (The Federal Republic of Nigeria),My patriotic thoughts have prompted my post for today.
From my thoughts and reflection on the national anthem which was adopted in 1978,there are many lessons to be learnt, but i will mention a few.The first stanza is a call to action while the second stanza is a powerful prayer for any country that would be great and flourish. I personally believe in the greatness of Nigeria.
I learnt in this anthem that the call to action came before the prayer.The call to action is a call to responsibility and to show personal leadership that will lead to our greater good as a country. This informs that when we do what is in our own power to do as individuals and as a nation, God will always fulfill His own part.
We cannot put the cart before the horse. You need to do your own part, we all need to contribute our own quota of work and value for the greatness of our beloved countries and for the greater good of entire mankind.
God bless Nigeria (and the world at large)!

Many things happen in life which a man might have no control over. However he has control over how
he responds to them. He can choose to be reactive or rather proactive. Effective people in every field are proactive in the face of life's challenges. Choosing to be happy is a proactive approach to life.
Imagine you were a fertile garden that has the potential to bring forth weeds or flowers, which of these two would you rather grow! I bet you will rather be a garden of different beautiful flowers, than be overgrown with weeds and all things negative. You sure are that garden, you are a fruit-bearing tree and today you will choose above all things to be Happy and contented with life, and in this, you will find the positive energy to aspire and be much more than you currently are, remembering that your ‘playing small doesn’t help the world’
While you might not be able to fore tell the outcome of an event with absolute precision, God has given you absolute power and this power is an extension of your ability to choose how you will embrace change and confront the challenges headlong.
Remain unperturbed by the happening of life, your mind is a treasured garden you will constantly guide from the weeds of bitterness, staying happy a recipe to keeping this weeds out and away. If happiness were a choice, wouldn’t you rather choose it now and again? Well, Happiness, sure is a choice.
AFFIRMATIONS!
Some bold confessions might be very useful in times when you are at low ebb. It is a sure way of keeping things in track again. When you choose to be happy you take back your power!

THE POWER OF CHOICE
Man is the greatest of all of God's creatures.He is so endowed and empowered.
Of the greatest of all the many blessings bestowed on us by God is our ability to alter the course of our lives though the power of choice.
I will consider this power of choice from the perspectives of BE-DO-HAVE Philosophy of personal development.
Man can choose to BE. To be is a state of being, this is a component of who you were in the past, who you are in the present and who you
want to be in the future! God has given man the power to influence this amongst all odds through the power of choice.
We can as well choose to do anything within your powers to do. Man can do anything! based on his present level of BEING! If he cannot do it
He just has not become it yet! We can choose to be and to become that which we desire.
Having been and done all within his powers man creates and avenue for himself to have all that comes with it.
So I opine that man can have all he chooses to have by being the kind of person and doing the related actions that are relevant
to him having the object of his desires.
The power of choice is a two-edged sword,which can be used to set about either a positive or negative result.
It is within your power to choose your outcome in every event and even when the outcome is not desirable it has been created by choice either consciously or consciously.
Choose Carefully; choose greatness!
