Devotional: SHINE IN PROSPERITY

Open Heavens - Saturday, September 5, 2015
by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Details
SHINE IN PROSPERITY

While it is true that the Lord expects us to shine in the areas of our character and soul-winning, He also expects us to shine in the area of prosperity. No wonder He gave us great promises on prosperity such as these found in Deuteronomy 28:12:
“The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.”
Poverty is one of the repercussions of sin; hence there is so much poverty across the globe. God is not happy with the level of poverty in the world, this is why He has chosen to make His children prosper and set them as lights that will wipe out the darkness of poverty from nations (Psalm 35:27). If you have been blessed by God but have not yet reached the level where you can lend to nations; it shows that you have not yet arrived at the level of prosperity God is taking you to. Because of your current lowly situation, you may find it hard to believe that God can truly increase you to this level, but the truth about God’s integrity is that if He has promised to do it, He will definitely keep His promise, provided you do your part.

Concerning where God is taking you to, you would be wise to always remember that your present situation does not matter. God’s destination for you is quite different from where you are now. Your present location cannot stop God from taking you to the destination He has for you. He is the God who can relocate a beggar from the dunghill to sit with princes and nobles (1 Samuel 2:8). David was just a shepherd boy attending to his father’s little flock, but when God decided to move him into greatness, his humble circumstances did not stop God. The young shepherd boy became king according to God’s promise (2 Samuel 7:8). God did the same for Joseph. Joseph had a dream, but he also had very determined dream-killers as brothers. They sold him into slavery, and at a point, he was a prisoner. In spite of all these, he rose from prison to become prime minister of Egypt (Psalm 105:17-22). You too are destined to be great! Your present challenges or limitations cannot stop you from becoming what God has ordained you to be. You shall be great! Nothing will stop you. No one can stop you. It is well with your tomorrow.

Memorise:
Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Zechariah 1:17

Read:
Deuteronomy 28:9-13

Bible in one year:
Exodus 12:1-13:16
Romans 8:1-17

Prayer Point:
Father, make a statement on prosperity to the world with my life and family.

Deuteronomy 28:9-13
9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

Topic: - Money & The Love Of It

Memorise: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. - 1 Timothy
6:10

READ: 1 Timothy 6:6-11
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Bible in One Year: Joshua 18:1-19:39, Matthew 21:33-22:14

MESSAGE:
God knows no lack, and He expects His children to reach a height of financial greatness where lack will be forgotten forever. The one whose name is El-shaddai can provide for all of your needs. Gathering wealth by honest means is the path to increase. Those who get rich quick by bribing their way or engaging in fraudulent means are only digging their own pit. Wealth gotten by vanity will diminish. Many are secretly envying unbelievers because of their wealth. This is foolishness. You have to wait upon the Lord to show you your source of wealth so that you don’t overrun yourself. Wealth from the Almighty God is supposed to be a blessing, but when the search for wealth is taken to the extreme, it becomes a curse. You must never pursue wealth to the detriment of your soul. There are many people looking for wealth for the wrong reasons. Some want to be rich because they feel wealth commands respect. For some others, it is to satisfy the thirst of belonging to a certain social class. Some people want wealth so as to use it as an instrument of oppression or revenge. God will not support such motives. The devil is always out to exploit your insincerity. He will give you options of getting fast wealth outside the will of God. Once you fall for it, you may never come out of his trap except God decides to have mercy on you.
Many rich people are never satisfied. There is something in them that pushes them to want to accumulate more wealth for reasons they can’t explain (Ecclesiastes 5:10). Contentment is a virtue that cannot be bought with money (1 Timothy 6:6). If you have contentment, you can never be trapped in the deceitfulness of riches. Do you know that there are many people out in search of wealth, struggling in places where God has not put them? Isaac thought of escaping to Egypt to avoid famine or scarcity, but God asked him to remain in Gerar (Genesis 26:1-2). He obeyed God and sowed his seed right where he was, and there was a great harvest for him. He became so great that the natives of the land envied his wealth. All you need to do is to cultivate the right relationship with God, and He will always direct you to where your blessing will locate you. Another problem for the wealthy is the temptation of using their money to buy what will destroy them. You need to know how much the devil is taking from many through the medium of cigarettes, alcohol and hard drugs. Some people never planned to have extra-martial affairs until they started having money. The kind of wealth that will disconnect you from God will never come into your hands in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, keep me from wealth that will lead to my destruction.

Good morning! Please find the open heavens devotional for today, remember faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God

Topic: - Respect the Anointing

Memorise: Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. - Psalm 105:5
Read: 1 Samuel 24:1-6
1 And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of En-gedi.
2 Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.
3 And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.
4 And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily.
5 And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
6 And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
Bible in One Year: Joshua 15-17, Mathew 21:18-32

MESSAGE:
There is a saying that the anointing you don't respect will never work for you. When Elisha was following Elijah from one point to the other, the fifty sons of the prophet who were at Jericho were waiting to see the outcome, expecting that relationship would end hopelessly. They even confronted Elisha and reminded him that his shine would soon be over because his master would soon be taken away. In 2 Kings 2:15, after they saw that a superior anointing had been transferred to Elisha, voluntarily, they all bowed before him. When the Holy Spirit comes upon an individual, he is no longer the same, irrespective of his age, status or qualifications. Despite all the activities of Saul in trying to destroy David, David still respected the anointing on Saul's life, even though his activities were incongruent with the word of God. For those who respect the anointing, God has a way of changing death to life for them. He has a way of making their enemies to become their servants. The same sword that Goliath wanted to use in eliminating David was what David used to eliminate him. Another lesson from the life of David is this: David fought only the battles he could win. When you rebelling against the leader God has put over you because of his firmness, you are already fighting a battle you can't win. You cannot fight against the anointed of God and win because God has already decreed it.
God fought for David throughout his sojourn. Whenever God decides to fight for someone, the battle is always very short and victory is assured. The person that God is fighting for may not even need to do anything at all other than just wait for victory. In one of our monthly Holy Ghost services held at the Redemption Camp, some agents of darkness lined themselves up around the place from which I ascend to the pulpit. I knew of this opposition because of the spiritual gift of discernment. In the midst of being lost in the thought of what I do, I committed the message to the Lord in prayer. The Lord told me to go ahead and preach despite the opposition. He told me that His anointing upon my head is able to make my cup run over in the presence of my enemies. To the glory of God, the Lord took control of everything and His people were mightily blessed on that day. When the anointing comes upon your head by faith, you will never be the same again. This cup of this unction and power of the Lord will overflow on your head in the presence of your enemies. This uncommon anointing will break every yoke, heal sickness, cure the incurable, set the captives free, and raise the dead and enable you rule in the midst of your enemies.
Action Point: Have you partaken in rebellion against the anointed of God in any way ' Repent and be converted today'.

Set-Up for Irreversible Blessing

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL
BY Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Date: - Tuesday, 7 April 2015
Topic: - Set-Up for Irreversible Blessing

Memorise: His mother saith unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. - John 2:5

Read: 1 Kings 17:10-16 (KJV)
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

Bible in One Year: Zechariah 12-14, Matthew 15:32-16:12

MESSAGE:
My life is living proof of goodness of God. The testimonies of God's blessings in my life are uncountable. My journey to becoming what God has made me today has not been as easy as you may think. Each time I remember where I started from and how I started, I'm usually overwhelmed with gratitude, and it bears my imagination. I remember with nostalgic feelings how God dealt with me in the past and how He is still using me as an instrument in His hands. In 1985, when I started living at Redemption Camp with my family, there were times that I would not have N1 in my pocket. Do you know that there were times my wife and I would not be able to go to Lagos because we had no N2 to pay for toll fees' I would comfort my wife on such days by telling her that God might have restricted us from going to Lagos because and accident will occur on the road.
However, the fact was that I could not afford to pay the toll fee of only N2 both ways. I thank God because that condition has gone forever. Poverty is no longer a threat to whatever I want to do in life because God has placed me and all my children, both biological and spiritual, on the pedestal of irreversible blessings. The womb of lack has been completely shut forever and my cup of blessings is running over day by day. I pray that as you get committed to the work of God entrusted to your care, you will never know lack again in Jesus ‘Name.
Do you know that God can choose to divert wealth to your side? If you have given your life to Christ, this is one of your benefits for being in the commonwealth of Isreal by faith. Without any iota of doubt, believers can be blessed by the Lord greatly. God could decide to arrange the transfer of wealth that unbelievers have laid upon for years to you without much problem. Infact, if you understand the glorious agenda of wealth transfer, unbelievers could even be struggling to bless you. Sometime ago, I told all my children at the auditorium of the Redemption Camp that I did not want anyone to give me cars anymore because I had more than enough, and cars were no longer an issue for me. Before I got home on that very day, four cars were already waiting for me and two of these cars were from Muslims. When God decides to set you up for irreversible blessings, poverty will become a total stranger to you. However, you must live a life that will glory God. You must maintain a constant, unbroken fellowship with Him. Live a life that will be a blessing to the Lord if you don't want His prosperity to be withdrawn from you. Are you in the doldrums of debt and poverty? Believe God for a divine set-up. It will be an encounter that will position you for blessings that will cause your cup to run over.

Prayer Point: Father, please give me an explosive miracle today that will make my cup run over.'

Open Heavens Devotional: Great Expectations

Topic: - Great Expectations

Memorise: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. - 1 Corinthians 2:9
Read: John 4:24-34 (KJV)
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Bible in One Year: Micah 5-7, Matthew 11:20-12:8

MESSAGE:
The Scripture reading of today shows us a marked difference between the priorities of our Lord Jesus Christ and that of His disciples at a point in time. Many of us, like the disciples, are often engrossed with how to meet our physical, psychological and emotional needs. We are immersed in things which are ephemeral in nature. These include what to eat, what to drink, where to live, how to be clothed, how to take care of our immediate and distant families, how to stay healthy, how to be wealthy and how to be famous. Jesus assured His disciples that the Father knew their needs and would provide for them (Matthew 6:31-32). Moreover, He stressed what should be the topmost priority of all heaven-bound Christians. Matthew 6:33 says,
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Passion for the things of God should be your topmost priority! It is often said that passionate people make the greatest contributions to society. Be passionate about the things of God. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and the necessities of daily life will be provided. Stop chasing shadows. Stop putting the cart before the horse. It is time to correctly prioritise your life and passions.
God is called the God of glory in Acts 7:2. There are therefore great expectations for those who serve the God of glory in holiness and truth. There is a blessing of divine favour for all who consecrate themselves to serving God in spirit and truth. It should be noted that a day of divine favour is better than many years of labour. The blessing of divine favour is superior to what people ordinarily enjoy. I pray that you will enjoy the blessing of divine favour with effect from today in Jesus' Name. Those who consecrate themselves to serving God in spirit and truth also receive divine prosperity (Psalm 1:1-3). God is the only one who blesses without adding sorrows to it. Are you experiencing sorrow in any area of your life? I pray that God will turn that sorrow to joy in Jesus' Name.
There is fruitfulness for all who consecrate themselves to serving God in spirit and truth (Psalm 92:12-14). They also have an assurance of victory over all known and unknown enemies (Psalm 132:18). God will reveal the secrets of all your enemies to you. He will stand by you and fight all your battles for you. He will render your enemies irrelevant and grant you victory over them. Finally, there is the assurance of making heaven at last for all who consecrate themselves to serving God in spirit and truth. What is the state of your consecration and love for God?

Prayer Point: Father, grant me the grace to consecrate myself to serving you in spirit and truth.

OPEN HEAVENS Sunday, 29 March 2015 : EMMANUEL

It's a great day! Please find below today's open heaven's devotional.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL
BY Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Date: - Sunday, 29 March 2015
Topic: - Emmanuel

Memorise: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you. - Zechariah 8:23

Read: (Matthew 1:18-25 KJV)
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
5 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Bible in One Year: Micah 1-4, Matthew 10:40-11:19

MESSAGE:
One reason why the Holy Spirit caused the Gospel of Matthew to be written is to show that Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophesies concerning the Messiah. One of such prophesies is found in Isaiah 7:14 which says,
"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
This prophecy was shown to be fulfilled by Jesus in our Bible reading today. One of the key points of this prophecy is that Jesus will be referred to as Emmanuel. The name Emmanuel means "God with us". There is nothing as good as when God is with a person. God is the eternal, independent, self-existing Being. He is the Being whose purpose and actions spring from Himself without any external influence. God is absolute in dominion and infinitely benevolent. He alone is the cause of all existence and the upholder of all things. Numerous benefits accrue from the presence of God. One advantage of having God with you is that no force, known or unknown can successfully detract you from fulfilling destiny (Romans 8:31-32).
For you to fully key into the revelation of "God with us", you need to understand who God is. God revealed who He is in discrete parts through His redemptive Names to the saints of old. He said to Moses in Exodus 6:3:
"And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them."
An understanding of His redemptive Names gives us insight into His personality and allows us to profit from the consciousness that this personality is with us.
God is the Elshaddai: He is the All-Sufficient One. This means that He has enough resources to meet all your needs - be it spiritual, physical, emotional or psychological. Also, God is Jehovah Jireh: the Great Provider. He has the ability to turn your austerity to prosperity and poverty to wealth (Philippians 4:19). Another Name for God is Jehovah Rapha: the Healer. Are you sick? He has the ability to cure you of all ailments - be it pathological, soul sickness or spiritual sickness. God is also Jehovah Nissi: He is the Man of War. Are you facing any battle? The Almighty God has the ability to fight all of your battles for you and to grant you total victory. Are the enemies of your life mammoth? Turn to Jehovah Nissi today. Let Him be your Emmanuel. I prophesy that you will experience victory in all the battles of your life in Jesus' Name.

Action Point: Consciously carry the presence of God along with you wherever you go.

Impulsive Praise

Saturday, 28 March 2015
Open Heavens 28 March 2015: Saturday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Impulsive Praise

Topic: Impulsive Praise [Saturday March 28, 2015]

Memorise: And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. - Luke 1:46-47

Read: (Acts 3:6-9 KJV)

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Bible in One Year: Obadiah 1-Jonah 4, Matthew 10:16-39

MESSAGE:

Praise can be described as a spontaneous outburst of thanksgiving by a grateful child of God in God's presence. When a person knows God and experiences Him intimately, he or she sings to the Lord with deepest praise! Our God is praiseworthy. He dwells in the praises of His children. Christ came so that men would be able to praise God in holiness and truth. The woks of Jesus caused men to rejoice and praise God. Luke 19:37 reports that:
"And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;"
God created us to praise Him. This will be our activity when we are gathered around His throne in Heaven. No true child of God should have difficulty thinking of reasons why God deserves his or her praise. We should enjoy the times we have to praise our Lord, both privately and publicly. If your life is not filled with praise, it may be that you have lost your appreciation of God's mercy upon you. Please, don't forget what God has saved you from. Never take for granted what it means to have the assurance of eternity with God. Your lifestyle should praise God in holiness and good works. Jesus in Matthew 5:16 said:
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Moreover, don't disregard the spiritual kinship you enjoy with other believers. Take time often to recount the blessings God has poured out upon you and your family in the midst of God's people. Jesus in Hebrews 2:12 declared thus:
"Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee."
As you contemplate the boundless love and mercy God has shown you, you will want to sing praises to His holy Name. Impulsive praise is spontaneous. It is involuntary and not pre-meditated. Here you can sing praises to God or mention His redemptive Names. Here you praise God because you are overwhelmed by His greatness, loving-kindness and goodness to you. Impulsive praise is credible praise. It does not have to be manipulated or orchestrated. It is a real and personal expression of a grateful heart and wonder-filled life that has encountered the Holy God. This is what God expects from you.

Key Point: Sincere praise is the spontaneous response of one who meditates on the greatness and goodness of the Lord.

Topic:- LIVING BY VISION AND REVELATION

Memorise:
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 15:1

Read: Gen.41:38-43
38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Bible in one year:
Daniel 7:9-8:27
Matthew.4:1-22

Message:
Vision is the energy of progress and a determinant of destiny. Vision is no doubt the most powerful forces available to man on earth today. It gives meaning to life, keep us alive, and conditions our lives. Vision inspired the Greeks to produce philosophy and art that still impact the thinking of our world. It motivated the great Roman Empire to expand its influence and develop the known world. Vision inspires the explorers who circumvented the globe and ignited the creation and expansion of many of the nations we know today. It is your vision that determines your destiny. Proverbs 29:18 says,

" Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. "

True vision is not based on what a person sees with the physical eyes alone, but on the images seen with the inward eyes of the mind. A man of vision sees what God has planned for him before its fulfilment. Vision entails planning and goal-setting every great person in history owned a personal vision. A man with no vision is at best a living corpse. He desires nothing and achieves nothing. Is your life directed by a clear vision? Do you know your potential for fulfilling this vision? Have you developed a concrete plan for your vision? Do you recognise peoples influence on your vision? These are all questions you need to answer if you will leave your prints on the sand of time. When you begin to act on your vision, it will stir up both those who want to help you and those who want to hinder you. How passionate are you about your vision? Vision requires faith for fulfilment. Have you built up faith necessary for the fulfilment of your God-given vision? And most importantly, what is the source of your vision.

In addition to true vision, God's people live by revelation. A christian is expected to operate on a God-given vision and by a revelation.
Christianity is an intimate growing relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. Every child of God should therefore live by the revelation of the word. We should live by what the word of God says. God expects you to arrange your life based on his word, regardless of whether it is convenient or not. God knows what is best for your future, your family, your church and your country. He wants want to reveal what is on His heart to you, if only he can get your attention. He expects you to diligently pursue your visions and the revelations He drops in your spirit.
Actualising your vision and the revelation God gives you requires diligence, integrity, focus, good human relations, prayer and faith.
How prepared are you to live by these.

Action point:
Dust up that vision or revelation God gave you so long ago and diligently run with it.

Memorise: And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. - Joel 2:25

Read: (2 Kings 6:1-7 KJV)

1 And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.

2 Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.

3 And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.

5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

6 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.

7 Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

Bible in One Year: Daniel 1:1-2:30, Revelation 22

MESSAGE:

In our Scripture reading today, we see someone felling a tree by the riverside and the axe head been used falling into River Jordan. Thank God for His power that located the axe head and brought it back up for the user to complete his project. There are people who have lost very precious things in their lives. With God, there is nothing lost that cannot be recovered miraculously. To recover means to find something you once lost. There are people who have suffered partial loss and there others who have suffered total loss. No matter the type of loss you have suffered, The Almighty God will restore them to you in Jesus' Name. In Mark 5:25-34, the woman with issue of blood lost a lot. She lost her health because she had been in that situation for long. She lost her wealth because she had spent all she had, trying to get help from physicians. She lost her peace because when there is absence of good health and wealth, frustration can set in and this leads to depression. But by the time she met Jesus, everything she had lost was restored back to her. For a user of this devotional, whatever good thing you have lost will be recovered instantly in Jesus' Name.

Samson is an example of someone who suffered partial loss (Judge 16:21-27). As a result of his carelessness, he lost his eyes to the enemy. Even though his hair grew back, blindness remained in his life. By that Name that is above every other name, which is Jesus, every reminder of lost in your life is terminated in Jesus'Name. Everything you have lost; financially, physically, in your marriage and career-wise shall be fully recovered in Jesus' Name. Another interesting story that shows God's ability to return whatever one has lost is found in Daniel 4:28-37. It is a story about King Nebuchadnezzar. This king became so proud that he refused to acknowledge God as source of his achievements. In a bid to humble him and teach him that man cannot achieve anything without God, God caused him to lose his kingdom. He also suffered the loss of sanity, humanity, dignity, glory and honour. In fact, for a period of 7 years, he was not different from animals. Miraculously though, all through those years of his wilderness experience, nobody replaced him on the throne. The Lord kept his position intact until his training was over. Testimonies abound to show the fact than an opportunity was lost does not mean it cannot be regained. As long as God is in the equation. He can reverse the irreversible. He can suspend law and principles to make a point in your life. That is why those who think they have seen your end are in for a shocker. It is important that we always appreciate what we have so that we don't lose it. If you have lost your peace of mind due to backsliding, you have to repent of those sins and confess the Lordship of Jesus. If you do these, you will become a new person and experience the time of refreshing from the Almighty God.

Prayer Point: Father, by your mercy, command a recovery of all I have lost in Jesus'Name.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY 13th March,2014.

Topic: - The Pains of Disobedience

Memorise: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. - 1 Samuel 15:23

Read: (1 Samuel 15:10-11 KJV)
10 Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,
11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 47-48, Revelation 21:9-27

MESSAGE:
The sin of disobedience is a terrible sin. Nothing hinders the children of God from fulfilling their purpose in life like disobedience. Disobedience comes in many shades. It can take the form of refusal to keep to specific instructions, functioning in an office God has not called you to, courting a wrong relationship or operating in a place you are not meant to be in at a particular time. No matter what form it takes, the truth remains that disobedience is a terrible sin in the sight of the Almighty God. Disobedience compels God to turn blessings into curse, as we see in the account of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:17). Every act of disobedience erodes your reservoir of God's blessings. Nothing destroys a man faster than the sin of disobedience. That is the reason why you have to check your life today and take stock of your soul, so that your sky will not be turned into brass (Deuteronomy 28:23). When this happens, instead of favour, you will experience closed doors.
In 1 Samuel 15:1-23, King Saul lost his crown because of partial obedience. God expects full obedience form all His children. He prefers total obedience to partial obedience. This is one of the reasons why many of us are yet to access the blessings of God fully. Abraham was called to leave his father's house behind but he suffered the consequences of disobedience by taking Lot along with him. Who are those people the Lord expects you to have dropped but you are still hanging around? What are those things the Lord has warned you about that you are still engaging in? These are the things that will deny you the full blessings of God. Numbers 12:8 says Moses was so close to God that he conversed with God mouth to mouth. But when he was told by God to speak to the Rock and he struck the rock instead, he was severely punished: he never got to the Promised Land (Numbers 20:12). Check your life and find out those things that are capable of hindering you from becoming the best that God wants you to be. Drop them now before they make you drop out of the journey to the Promised Land.
Check your life today. If you are experiencing perpetual sorrow, suffering, disappointment and unfulfilled desires, check and find out the factors responsible. Don't pretend to be okay when you know all is not well with you. If you confess those hidden sins of disobedience, you will surely find mercy, but if you pretend about it, you will be undoing yourself. Some people keep making effort, yet they never record any success. Several trials and much effort do not guarantee success when disobedience is present.

Action Point: Examine yourself today and repent from every act of disobedience in your life.

Topic: - Benefits of Patience

Memorise: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; - Romans 4:20

Read: [Genesis 17:1-5 KJV]
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a
father of many nations have I made thee.

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 41:1-43:12; Revelation 18:19-19:10

MESSAGE:
There are lots of benefits awaiting those who are patient in receiving God's promises.
"For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him." - Isaiah 64:4
It is always to our advantage when we wait on His word. It is the only guarantee we have for securing victory, success and the breakthroughs we crave for. For so long, God wanted to enter into a covenant with Abraham, but Abraham was just not ready. It was only after 24 years of self-dependence and self-government by Abraham that God felt He was ready. There are many generational blessings that God wants to give to you. There are also many exploits that He wants you to accomplish, but as long as you are not ready to do it according to His time-table, there will always be unnecessary delays. Any time God calls for a partnership with us, He is simply looking for an opportunity to bless us. He wants to provide divine direction and turn our nothingness to something. He wants to make a message out of our mess, and He wants to bring a testimony out of our tests.
When the Lord called His disciples apart in Mark 6:30-31, it was for the purpose of waiting on Him. If you are the type always running up and down, you cannot get the best from God. Those who wait on Him in patience are usually rewarded. It is very important to wait on Him for direction in your projects, relationships and programmes. If you learn to be patient, situations and circumstances will always be within your control. In the place of waiting, there is no room for unbelief and doubt. Abraham did not stagger at God's promises, and his faith was rewarded (Romans 4:20). Peter toiled all night without catching anything (Luke 5:3-7). The Lord decided to choose his boat for a kingdom assignment and he did not refuse or complain; he just waited for his miracle. At the end, he rejoiced. Have you been waiting on God's promises for so long? Keep your cool. Don't be discouraged. If you become impatient, you may lose the benefits meant to transform your life. At the end of Peter's waiting, his story changed. The Peter who caught nothing became the Peter who needed the assistance of others to handle the blessings of God in his life. I say to a user of this devotional, in that Name that is above every other name, your joy, blessing, breakthrough, healing and anointing will overflow to generations yet unborn. Waiting upon the promises of God requires faith. When you wait patiently on God for anything, you save time, and in the end, nothing will be lost.

Prayer Point: Dear Lord, please continue to be my focus as I wait on you.
