OPEN HEAVENS: Benefits of the New Anointing

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL
BY Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Date: - Friday, 3 April 2015
Topic: - Benefits of the New Anointing

Memorise: But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. - 1 John 2:27

Read: Exodus 40:9-15 (KJV)
9 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.
10 And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.
11 And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.
12 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.
13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
14 And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:
15 And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
Bible in one year: Haggai 1-2; Matthew 13:24-44

MESSAGE:
The anointing should occupy a prominent place in the life of every child of God. When God grants you the anointing, several benefits are attached to it. He gives His anointing in order to add value, not just to your life, but also to the lives of everyone you come in contact with. The benefits of the new anointing are so many that they cannot be for those who are lazy. You must have worked, prayed and studied hard before you can receive such anointing. The new anointing is an uncommon anointing; it is not what you find on the surface; you must dig for it.
When Elisha was desperate for the new anointing, the other sons of the prophets were busy laughing him to scorn (2 Kings 2:3-5). They tried to discourage him from reaching his goal by deriding him, but he never got discouraged. He continued to serve and follow his master devotedly. Those who had earlier discouraged him were the first set of people to congratulate him later on (2 Kings 2:15). Hard work and persistence pays. When you are a hardworking person, you will get to a point where those who are lazy will have only one choice, which is bowing before you. Nobody may know of your secret prayers now, but the moment your prayers are answered, you will begin to tell the secrets of your success. If you really want to experience the new anointing, don't ever allow anybody to discourage you. Keep seeking God's face and serving Him diligently. God is always ready to baptize you with the fire required to make the world focus on you.
The presence of the new anointing guarantees that there will continue to be proof of answered prayers in your life. When the new anointing becomes visible, there will be a sudden demonstration of great happenings in your life. The new anointing in the life of a child of God shows that the enemy has been made to face shame and total extermination. In 1 Kings 18:37-40, there was an encounter between Elijah and the prophets of Baal. The anointing was the sole instrument that God used in putting the enemies to shame in this encounter. The fire of God brought shame completely to the prophets of Baal. To a user of this devotional, I decree: by the new anointing that God will give to you, you will become an instrument of fiery judgment against the enemies of God, and all your enemies will bow in Jesus' Name.

Prayer Point: Father, let all my enemies submit themselves and bow to you in the Name of Jesus.

Impulsive Praise

Saturday, 28 March 2015
Open Heavens 28 March 2015: Saturday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - Impulsive Praise

Topic: Impulsive Praise [Saturday March 28, 2015]

Memorise: And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. - Luke 1:46-47

Read: (Acts 3:6-9 KJV)

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Bible in One Year: Obadiah 1-Jonah 4, Matthew 10:16-39

MESSAGE:

Praise can be described as a spontaneous outburst of thanksgiving by a grateful child of God in God's presence. When a person knows God and experiences Him intimately, he or she sings to the Lord with deepest praise! Our God is praiseworthy. He dwells in the praises of His children. Christ came so that men would be able to praise God in holiness and truth. The woks of Jesus caused men to rejoice and praise God. Luke 19:37 reports that:
"And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;"
God created us to praise Him. This will be our activity when we are gathered around His throne in Heaven. No true child of God should have difficulty thinking of reasons why God deserves his or her praise. We should enjoy the times we have to praise our Lord, both privately and publicly. If your life is not filled with praise, it may be that you have lost your appreciation of God's mercy upon you. Please, don't forget what God has saved you from. Never take for granted what it means to have the assurance of eternity with God. Your lifestyle should praise God in holiness and good works. Jesus in Matthew 5:16 said:
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Moreover, don't disregard the spiritual kinship you enjoy with other believers. Take time often to recount the blessings God has poured out upon you and your family in the midst of God's people. Jesus in Hebrews 2:12 declared thus:
"Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee."
As you contemplate the boundless love and mercy God has shown you, you will want to sing praises to His holy Name. Impulsive praise is spontaneous. It is involuntary and not pre-meditated. Here you can sing praises to God or mention His redemptive Names. Here you praise God because you are overwhelmed by His greatness, loving-kindness and goodness to you. Impulsive praise is credible praise. It does not have to be manipulated or orchestrated. It is a real and personal expression of a grateful heart and wonder-filled life that has encountered the Holy God. This is what God expects from you.

Key Point: Sincere praise is the spontaneous response of one who meditates on the greatness and goodness of the Lord.

Topic:- LIVING BY VISION AND REVELATION

Memorise:
After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 15:1

Read: Gen.41:38-43
38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Bible in one year:
Daniel 7:9-8:27
Matthew.4:1-22

Message:
Vision is the energy of progress and a determinant of destiny. Vision is no doubt the most powerful forces available to man on earth today. It gives meaning to life, keep us alive, and conditions our lives. Vision inspired the Greeks to produce philosophy and art that still impact the thinking of our world. It motivated the great Roman Empire to expand its influence and develop the known world. Vision inspires the explorers who circumvented the globe and ignited the creation and expansion of many of the nations we know today. It is your vision that determines your destiny. Proverbs 29:18 says,

" Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. "

True vision is not based on what a person sees with the physical eyes alone, but on the images seen with the inward eyes of the mind. A man of vision sees what God has planned for him before its fulfilment. Vision entails planning and goal-setting every great person in history owned a personal vision. A man with no vision is at best a living corpse. He desires nothing and achieves nothing. Is your life directed by a clear vision? Do you know your potential for fulfilling this vision? Have you developed a concrete plan for your vision? Do you recognise peoples influence on your vision? These are all questions you need to answer if you will leave your prints on the sand of time. When you begin to act on your vision, it will stir up both those who want to help you and those who want to hinder you. How passionate are you about your vision? Vision requires faith for fulfilment. Have you built up faith necessary for the fulfilment of your God-given vision? And most importantly, what is the source of your vision.

In addition to true vision, God's people live by revelation. A christian is expected to operate on a God-given vision and by a revelation.
Christianity is an intimate growing relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. Every child of God should therefore live by the revelation of the word. We should live by what the word of God says. God expects you to arrange your life based on his word, regardless of whether it is convenient or not. God knows what is best for your future, your family, your church and your country. He wants want to reveal what is on His heart to you, if only he can get your attention. He expects you to diligently pursue your visions and the revelations He drops in your spirit.
Actualising your vision and the revelation God gives you requires diligence, integrity, focus, good human relations, prayer and faith.
How prepared are you to live by these.

Action point:
Dust up that vision or revelation God gave you so long ago and diligently run with it.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL Thursday,  March 12, 2015. GET MOTIVATED

Open Heavens Devotional 📖📖📖
By Pastor E.A ADEBOYE

Date:- Thursday,  March 12, 2015.

Topic:- GET MOTIVATED

Memorise:
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

Read: Proverbs 6:6-8,
Proverbs  6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

6:7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

6:8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

Bible in one year:
Ezekiel 45:7-46:24,
Revelation 20:7-21:8

Message:
Many believers read or study the Bible but never meditate on it. If only you can find adequate time to ponder on the Word, you will realise that the solution you need for every issue of life is found in it. Find some time to ponder on the recommendation in our Bible reading for today, because anyone who wants to amount to anything significant in life has a lot to learn from the ants. Are you already giving up or
fainting before time? Then, you have a lot to learn from the ants. The reason why some people with great potential will not go far in life is because they are not self-motivated. Motivation has nothing to do with your height but your mind. Whatever is missing in your mind cannot come into your life. If complaining is always your mindset, possibilities will be far from you. These is no limitation or barrier that can stop
you from becoming all that God wants you to become, except the one you place on yourself. You have to make up your mind to lay aside every weight and the sin which easily besets you (Hebrew 12:1). You must not be weary in well-doing because in a short while, if you faint not, you will reap that which has been sown.

One big lesson you can draw from the ants is that they are self-motivated. You have to stay motivated to give your best against all odds. In the midst of other animals, the ants do not struggle to live; they live comfortably. When a man of God does his work the way it should be done, what he will eat will not be a prayer point. As a minister, you must see God as your employer because that is what He is. With this
mindset, you will put your trust in God whenever you are dismayed. If you will ever make it to your goal in life, you have to stay motivated. You have to devise a strategy of staying on top of your game because what you choose as your motivation is central to the achievement of your goals. Hope brings motivation. Hebrews 6:19 says:

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”

If you lose all your earthly possessions but retain your hope of a better tomorrow, you will be fine. May your anchor of hope remain intact in Jesus’ Name. The result you get from your effort on anything is at most a function of the motivating force driving you.
Motivation is the forerunner of any tangible achievement in life. There are people who have good and strong expectations from life, quite a number of them may drift away due to weariness and a fainting spirit. Is your motivation for a glorious tomorrow still intact? Do you believe all is well with you despite the reports you are getting today? Keep your help alive, it shall be well with you.

ACTION POINT:
Encourage yourself in the Lord. Build up your hope by pondering on God’s faithfulness.

Topic: - God’s Time-Table

Memorise: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Read: (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV)
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 51:1-51 and Acts 26:24-27:12

MESSAGE:
Today’s reading makes it clear that God has a timetable. Obviously, this timetable is tied to a heavenly calendar. The Lord in His infinite wisdom designed the heavens and the earth, and He allotted times and seasons to every plan and purpose. There is some truth to the quote from Shakespeare which says the entire world is a stage. The world began in Genesis and has closely followed the pattern of a drama. The timing of every act, the duration of each scene and the role of each actor strictly follows a divine script written by God Himself. Therefore, there is a time to be born, a time to laugh, a time for war and a time to die. There is a time for salvation, deliverance, and judgment. Also, there is an appointed time for the rise and fall of individuals and nations of the world.
In God’s timetable, there is a time for favour. When the time to favour you comes, you will receive divine intervention like Daniel in the lion’s den. Favour will locate you like David in the wilderness; a higher authority will become interested in your case like Joseph in prison, and all your prayers will be answered. I therefore pray in the Name that is above all other names that your time of favour shall come speedily. When your time of favour comes, the word of God in Romans 8:28 will become reality in your life.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28
Moreover, in God’s timetable, there is a time for the fulfilment of prophecy. To be destined for such a glorious position in the agenda of the Almighty God is not a general gift and not by accident. It is usually for a purpose – a divine purpose. When your time of fulfilment of prophecy comes as experienced by Abraham, Jacob, Israel, Joseph, Joshua, Esther, David and Jesus of Nazareth, God will suspend natural laws and break protocols for your sake. He will make ways for you where there is no way. He will make connect you to your destiny–helpers, and your journey to success will be accelerated. May the time for fulfilment of prophecy come quickly in your life in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer point: Father, please let my time of special favour and accelerated fulfilment of prophecy come speedily in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: - Sound of Abundant Rain

Memorise: Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. - Zechariah 10:1

Read: (1 Kings 18:41-45 KJV)
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, there is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
45 And it came to pass in the meanwhile, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 43-44 and Acts 24:1-21

MESSAGE:
There is a point in the life of every child of God when the appointed time for the fulfilment of a divine promise arrives. We know as a matter of fact that the word of God is yea and amen. We believe that His word is settled in heaven. We are also certain that heaven and earth may pass away but a dot in His word will not pass away unfulfilled. Nevertheless, as the time of fulfilment of a major prophecy approaches, we may become overwhelmed with suspense and anxiety.
This seems to the case of Elijah in today's reading. Three years before, the prophet had authoritatively declared to king Ahab that there will be no dew nor rain in the land of Israel, except by his word (1 Kings 17:1). Within the three years following that event, God had answered his various requests, and the victory over the prophets of Baal was still fresh in his mind. Yet he knew that if God should send rain at his word, It would be a great accomplishment and the crowning point of his life. It was with this feeling that Elijah approached Mount Carmel for the manifestation of the power of God on the back of God's promise.
There are important lessons to be learnt from the way the prophet handled the situation. First, he exhibited his faith in the Word of God by confidently giving Ahab the assurance to go and start celebrating the coming of the rain. Next is the prophet's attitude to prayer. He decided to put his faith into action through fervent prayers. He was not tempted to leave God to fulfil His own promise.
Thirdly, the sound of abundant rain must have been a sign from God to the prophet, because others could not hear it. He received it with joy as a token that his prayer would be answered, and he announced it to the world by faith. The fourth lesson is that, even though his servant told him "there is nothing" six times, he did not allow discouragement to set in. He knew what God told him, and he held onto it tenaciously. Finally, Prophet Elijah persevered in the place of prayer. He said to his servant "go again", seven times. He continued to watch and pray and finally, there was a great rain. As you tarry in the place of prayer this year, the Lord will answer all your request by fire in Jesus' Name. Always remember this:
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Habakkuk 2:3.

Prayer Point: Father, please let every prophecy and divine promise for my life begin to find fulfilment now in the Name of Jesus.

#Spirituality: Open Heavens; SUNDRY TRUTHS ABOUT LIGHT

Sunday, 22 June 2014

Open Heavens 2014: Sunday June 22, daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye - SUNDRY TRUTHS ABOUT LIGHT
Topic: SUNDRY TRUTHS ABOUT LIGHT [Sunday June 22, 2014]

Memorise:
In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:4

Read: Matthew 5:14-16

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Message:

In Isaiah 60:1, we are enjoined to rise and shine. To shine means to reflect light. It could also mean to fulfil your purpose. John the Baptist knew the purpose of his existence. He faced this purpose squarely and refused to be distracted. John 5:35 says this concerning him:

“He was a burning and a shinning light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.”

Light burns. Light cannot be separated from heat. Science confirms that light is produced by hot objects. A good example of this is the sun. The sun burns itself to give light. As children of God, we are commanded to shine, and in order to shine, we must burn. The source of our light is God (John 1:4). That Source shines in darkness and darkness cannot overcome it. In other words, it resists darkness. There are lots of lessons to learn from this truth. First, we must shine and resist darkness. It is wrong for a child of God to stay idle and allow the works of darkness to thrive. As a child of God, you should be hot for the Lord. Evil and works of darkness should not feel comfortable wherever you are. However, no one can do this by his or her strength alone. You definitely need God for success and sustenance. He is the only reliable source. It is therefore important that you remain connected to your Source so that you don’t burn out (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The word of God teaches that light cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14-15). No one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel. No! The beauty of light is seen when it is exposed, not hidden. If you are working in an organisation and your co-workers cannot identify the light of Christ in you, then something is seriously amiss. Why? Because light cannot be hidden. In the same vein, we must know that we cannot hide our true character from people. It is both dangerous and unprofitable to be pretentious. We should therefore let people know our true colour. How? Be the best you can be for God. When you make up your mind to reflect the light of God in the midst of unrighteousness, the presence of God will always be seen in your life. A perfect illustration of this truth can be found in Joseph. He got to Egypt as a slave in Potiphar’s house, and God was with him there. He was tempted to hide the light and compromise his stand but he refused to yield to temptation. His action landed him in a dungeon, yet God was with him there. Finally he became the Prime Minister and God continued to be with him. Is your situation similar to that of Joseph? Please reflect the light. Are you facing a serious temptation to compromise your stand? Please reflect the light. God will always be with His children, and if God be with you, who can be against you?

Key Point:

If you remain connected to the source of light (God), you will not burn out.

Bible in a Year:
Leviticus 26:14-27:34; Psalm 136
