IT'S IN YOU!

19th century American  Poet, lecturer and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson said  “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

It's in you. The past the present and the future is in you. All that you were, all that you currently are and all you can ever dream of becoming is all within you.
The fading echoes of the past; the thrilling inspirations of this  present time which you now experience and the aspirations and hopes of the future are right within you.

The gifts, talents that you need are already within you. The opportunities  you seek are right within you.
I will draw some wisdom from a story told by Russell H. Conwell in his famous book Acres of Diamond. Hali Afed stayed on a very big farm in Philadelphia, it was a farm with lush fields, fresh green vegetations and a little crystal clear stream flowing in his backyard. Hali Afhed bustling with health and vitality was happy and contented. He was happy because he was contented and he was contented because he was happy. But one day Ali's close friend came and told him about some rocks found in a distant land; it was a rock hard and sparkling, a piece of which could make any man rich for life. so Ali thought so much about this rocks with the fact that he needed to go and get one for himself, that night Ali went to bed a poor and discontented man; he was poor because he was discontented and discontented because he was poor.
Long story short. Ali sold his big farm and travelled far not minding the harsh weather in pursuit of  this shiny precious rocks called diamonds. He spent all. He found nothing. As he lay sick, miserable and expecting nothing but death under the dark skies on a cold night, he heard the travellers discuss what happened at Ali Hafed's farm in Philadelphia,One sunny morning the servant of the new owner brought in some shiny looking rocks they found while the donkeys drank from the stream. And this new owner had put them on his study table until a priest who lived nearby saw them and spotted them for what they were the- rarest diamonds anyone can find,
And this back yard became the biggest diamond mines in the States. This story illustrates the fact that All you have always wanted is within you.
The very substance through which all things are made is in you.
You have probably heard of the 7 wonders of the world but I am sure you might not know until now that you, my dear friend; that you, yes you are  the eight wonder of the world. Because the vast shining  potentials and talents in the world, the books not yet written, the songs uncomposed, the greatest speech yet to be delivered, the world's newest invention the greatest diamond Mines in the world lies right within you. There is greatness within you, and I celebrate your greatness today!

Thank you!

THE SURVIVOR; A SHORT STORY

I just read an inspiring story from a friend and I hope to pass it on. I call it THE SURVIVOR.

The Hut
The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, and soon there was nothing left. The worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. "God, how could you do this to me?" he cried. Early the next day he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember this the next time your "hut" seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

RISE TO GREATNESS: BE THE LIGHT; SHINE

RISE TO GREATNESS: BE THE LIGHT; SHINE

(Today I am doing something unique, sharing my live Monday Twitter class #RiseToGreatness ahead of its 8am take off time with my blog audience and close contacts...read on!)

It's a great day! And it's nice bringing a fresh edition of #RiseToGreatness

Today, I like to speak on Be the Light
Light has a unique property and characteristic.
Science has proven that Light is capable of existing in two forms as a particle and as a wave.

Never underestimate the power of a little speck of light, you only need to bring many more together to grow its intensity.

Wave is a disturbance, so light can be a disturbance to those who dwell in the dark.

A wave transmits energy in its course, so light goes along with good energy as it travels along.

The angle of incidence of light is same as the angle of its reflection. So light behaves in a way to justify the effects of a particular cause.

The most profound destiny of light is to shine, illuminate and to intensify a view.

Every one has a measure of light but it's all in our power to make it shine .

Jesus said Let your light shine before men, they will see it and glorify your Father in heaven.

It is the single destiny of light to shine.
The greatest threat and lasting solution to darkness isn't wailing or panicking, but  Shining...

We must always shine in character and good works before good words. Great walks before great talks.

Great deeds will trump great needs when we choose to Shine!

And in Marianne Williamson's words; by shining we give others permission to do the same- shine

By being the light others receive freely from your light and they shine in their full brightness.
Shine where you are; Lead, inspire , influence , motivate and innovate with a difference.

Please say with me today; I am an exemplary leader. Today I make conscious effort to shine, I am the light of the world a city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY

May 29th is the anniversary of democracy in Nigeria, what makes this different is the fact that it is a transitional one. Today the baton of power has changed hands from Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the former Vice President Arch. Aliyu Sambo to Gen. Muhammad Buhari and Prof. Osibajo the new President and Vice President, respectively, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It is no more news that these are challenging times for anyone who wins the election. The expectations are high. From issues regarding Security- in tackling Boko  Haram sects, Fuel subsidy , Energy situation in Nigeria, Education, our Foreign Reserves and lots more, the new occupants of the Aso Rock have a lot of work to do, Nigerians and as well the international community does not expect less in their delivery and execution of the change mandate they promise- the very wave that brought them into the office at the polls.
Change is here. A change in the occupant of the seat of power at the presidential level and consequently at different levels in turn- Gubernatorial and at legislative quarters changes many things. Q new wave of power will always have a new set of people rise with it.
As we congratulate our new President and his Vice President and as we expect the delivery of a new Nigeria, waiting to see the positive face of change, we must understand that, Change delivery is the collective responsibility of Nigerians, If we all, over140 million Nigerians will be the voice and agents of change in our various spheres, circles across all strata, we all will arrive at the shores of a new Nigeria- the greatest country to live, in the world sooner than we expect. Please read Mr President's inaugural speech shared in the next post.

Cheers to a new Nigeria!

FUEL SCARCITY: WHAT TO DO

Well Nigeria will be great but it's going first to turning point and at turning point dy/dx =0 (Maths, at turning point the rate of change tends to zero)
Gtb closing early, classic FM, beats and some other stations ran out of diesel, MTN gradually dwindling on diesel reserves
Other networks might follow suit but I think Globacom might come in last because the Rich man has got some oil...
We have had so many fuel issues as far as I can remember in the  90s, but more recently we can remember occupy Nigeria,  is this 'occupy Aso Rock?'
What I know right now is, this fuel scarcity is fast affecting everything like a chain reaction... Even transport fares are ballooning at all bus stops. According to Aljazeera, airlines are struck also by this #Fuelscarcity aerocontractor cancelled 80% of its test (sorry I meant to say flights) and Kenya airline and a couple others had to divert some flights from Nigeria.
Well what Nigerians can do at this time is Believe,  pray and also act.
Do not panic.Stay informed, tune in to some radio stations that can run for some hours and as PHCN isn't left out go on solar if you can or have the facility
Stock up on enough foodstuffs and of course try as much to have some cash handy if you still can, Food or  cash is king right now. Most banks will start closing early from today.
You can also save up data on multiple provider SIM cards if you can. Imagine! Just yesterday, I heard a couple tell some one they travelled early to Ibadan from Lagos to buy fuel. (Ibadan is in Oyo state in Nigeria, about 2hours drive from Lagos). Schools might go on some breaks if this lingers.
I don't have any information at the moment,as to any negotiations going on to salvage  the situation or where to buy fuel at the moment. But you can share any info with us all in the comments section or also follow discussions on Twitter via #FuelScarcity.

I still believe in the greatness of Nigeria.
