REINVENT YOURSELF: THE NEED TO RECREATE YOURSELF

Today I will share with you a very powerful topic. It stems from our previous discussion on the subject of creativity. It is about bringing on the power of creativity on the greatest factor that matters in the world –Yourself!

You need to take your creativity to a new level by recreating yourself or in a broader way reinventing yourself. To do this I need you to pay “RA-P.T” attention

RAW: Everything that now exists has always existed in one lower form or raw a form before. The finest Italian furniture once existed as log in a stockpile.

The best designer shirts we now wear were once in the raw form of cotton and unsynthesized fibres and fabrics which might have never been of any good use to anyone at that state.

Even the precious diamond set in the royal diadem was once a dirty, hard and rough stone buried within the mass of rubbles and dirt beneath the earth.

So also the greatest achievers were once within the common reach of mediocrity, the high flyers of today once crawled in the subway of failure…

POTENTIAL: Everything in its present raw form has the next possible superior form hidden inside it. The aluminium was gotten from the rock of bauxite, and the utensil of great finesse made from aluminium. So also the little baby will become the young boy…, the young boy a handsome young man and the old man is the Youngman’s father… Everything and everyone can only get better and better..

THE TWO-WAY STREET: Yeah! It is perhaps like wielding a double edged sword, like a coin there are two sides to it. You either get better or the other way round, you either get richer or poorer. This is exactly like a two way street, If you do not get better you probably are sliding down the other part, nature has got no vacuum in it, everything keeps vibrating.

This is all about the need for reinventing yourself….

THE LAW OF ECHO

A story was once told of a young boy who went mountain climbing with his Dad, when they got to a particular cliff where they had camped ,he decided to take a walk by himself.

He walked out to the cliff and shouted and he heard a voice shouting back at him,… he went back to his Dad and told him ‘Dad there is someone out there in the cliff ‘telling me I am a bad person’ The Father smiled and said to him ‘Son, go back out there and shout back to the person ‘You are the best’. The young man went back out into the cliff and made a shout, he heard the person shout back at him, this time he went ahead and did what his Dad told him, then he shouted ‘You are the best!’ Immediately he heard the voice shout back to him ‘You are the best!’ with that he shouted more and more and the voice came back to him stronger and stronger, ‘You are the best!!!’…

This ageless Universe has long been governed by set of natural laws or rules which are proven and irrefutable. We experience them in our daily course of life, we have been under the influence of these laws either directly or indirectly most often knowingly or unknowingly.

These laws of life are as old as the Universe itself, yet they are true and valid under any circumstance in any part of the world. They can be referred to by different many names, a common example is the law of Karma-of sowing and reaping.

Another important of such laws is the Law of Echo. The principle behind this was clearly explained in elementary physical science, which clearly illustrates that when a sound is propagated it comes back towards the source based on the principle of reflection of waves. This was illustrated by my story.

This principle also holds true in nature. The law of echo is based on the laws of reflection of waves. The law of echo states that every sound you make or send to the Universe is reflected back to you.

When you speak to the universe, the Universe echoes back your words to you.It bring back to you what you speak to it. The great Book also affirms this that... ‘He shall have whatsoever he says’.

This law can be put to good use by being conscious of the sounds you make or what you say to the Universe, Instead of confessing the negative; you can speak bold and powerful affirmations and create the kind of response you hope to receive. God has put the laws in place for the maximum good of mankind.

GOING POETIC…WOLE SOYINKA

Today being the 78 th birthday of our great Nobel Laureate Professor Akinwande Oluwole Soyinka. Lest we forget our own Kongi was the first African to win the Nobel Laureate in Literature.As we all know, he has written a lot of great works including popular plays like Lion and the Jewel,Kongi’s Harvest,Trials of Brother Jero to mention a few…I have also enjoyed one of his many other works like The Man Died: Prison Notes (1971) which is one of his Memoirs alongside also a vast range of works in Poetry.

On the occasion of his birthday today,I have decided to publish one of his Poems-Abiku-it is my favourite of his many poems.

Wanderer child. It is the same child who dies and returns again and again to plague the mother. -Yoruba belief

In vain your bangles cast

Charmed circles at my feet

I am Abiku, calling for the first

And repeated time.

Must I weep for goats and cowries

For palm oil and sprinkled ask?

Yams do not sprout amulets

To earth Abiku's limbs.

So when the snail is burnt in his shell,

Whet the heated fragment, brand me

Deeply on the breast - you must know him

When Abiku calls again.

I am the squirrel teeth, cracked

The riddle of the palm; remember

This, and dig me deeper still into

The god's swollen foot.

Once and the repeated time, ageless

Though I puke, and when you pour

Libations, each finger points me near

The way I came, where

The ground is wet with mourning

White dew suckles flesh-birds

Evening befriends the spider, trapping

Flies in wine-froth;

Night, and Abiku sucks the oil

From lamps. Mothers! I'll be the

Suppliant snake coiled on the doorstep

Whats Up at The House of EMMANDUS?

Hello friends it’s nice meeting again after our last ‘tete-a-tete’ about two weeks ago…Gosh! That’s a very long time. Perhaps I should state my apologies at this point. I am working on a more organized structure for us to enjoy the thread on this blog and so our Reading frame will always look somewhat like this with updates ranging from daily to every other day. Today I wouldn’t go on without fulfilling my promise to share what I read in the month of June apart from the subject of creativity we took time to delve into.. A lot of wonderful titles appealed to me last month, however, I took time to read from different topics and authors..How to Get Rich by Donald Trump was wonderful, Understnading Vision and Ruling your World both by Bishop David O. Oyedepo were powerful, Let the Fire Fall by Pastor E.A Adeboye was so amazing, I did enjoy Doctors on Call from the Romantic Mills and Boom series, ….

I hope you will look foreward to a review soon.

As I end this piece I want to wish our spiritual mother Pastor Mrs Folu Adeboye a happy birthday as she turns 64, and also our great Nobel Laureate,Prof. Wole Soyinka as he turns 78 today. THE PATHWAYS TO CREATIVITY

"There is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding"*

CREATIVITY: ABILITY TO ENGAGE IN AN ACTIVITY in order to CREATE!

What is creativity? Creativity, I will simply say is the ability to create or produce something new; it’s that which a man possesses which makes him engage in activity that produces new dimension of awareness or reality. Creativity is the result of Inspiration or a higher consciousness of being. This article will take a brief look at how creative thoughts or ideas are formed or obtained.

(a)Thoughts: Your thought stream is a principal pathway to creative ideas. The human mind is the seat of thoughts, and countless thoughts pass thought the human mind every second. The mind is a very potent tool and when trained well to engage actively in creative ideas can generate useful and creative ideas. Great thoughts are products of great thinking; great inventors have been known to have personal thinking rooms.

(b)Dreams: The subject of dreams is of much controversy in different circles yet it is a common avenue through which great ideas have been known to have sprung from. I will not go into theories or works of psychologists like Sigmund Freud here.

In 1861 August Kekule woke from his sleep, and he came up with the structure of the Benzene Molecule the way he had seen it in his dream like a snake eating its tail. As much as dream is a pathway to creative ideas, it is not a must to stay asleep for hours to receive creative ideas.

A Pharaoh in Egypt saw in his dreams an imminent famine and this guided his decision to put in place the first grain storage system the world has ever known through the help of a Jewish youth who interpreted the dreams who was instantly promoted to the post of the Prime Minister of the then world power

(c)Silence: Most creative thoughts are brewed in silent moments. Listening to the voice of silence can reveal it to you. Being quiet in your heart can pave way for the next creative ideas it is clearly obvious that we perform less under much noise and confusion neither can we seem to fathom out any useful idea when we are troubled within us. Calmness and tranquility within us put us in a very good stead for conceiving more refined ideas.

(d)Meditation: Meditating or pondering on an issue can be another pathway to birthing a more useful idea, your subconscious mind could process and relate productive thoughts at this particular time as you reflect on an issue. As you spend more time pondering on a particular subject, you begin to see it from a new perspective and you are open to more ideas on the same issue.

(e)Ambience: The environment you find yourself affects how you come to terms with your creativity. Have you ever wondered why multinationals and other big organizations take into cognizance their environment? They know how it affects their productivity and how it also makes it easy for their employees to be more creative. Spending time to create a more aesthetic environment around you will go a long way to affect how receptive you are to new ideas.

(f) Self awareness: Discovery always precedes recovery; constantly evaluating yourself makes you more aware of happenings around you as they relate to you. You consciously and regularly discover who you are. Your eyes are opened to your strengths and your weaknesses. And you gain new insights to how you can come up with the best ideas in the same situation.

(g)The Spirit of God: This is the most important source or pathway of creativity. In actual fact all the other pathways are subject to this. This Spirit is the main drive behind the creation of the Universe itself, and He is the one that triggers the creative nature within us. When we are in touch with Him He takes us to the unusual frequency where creativity resides. Access to Him activates the other pathways of creativity.
