STEP INTO THE FUTURE!

Somebody once said, ‘the future comes a minute at a time’; This means today is actually the future we spoke about yesterday. It therefore shows that most times, the future is not always as far away as we always think.

The future spans through the next few unpredicted minutes and moments to days ,weeks, months and perhaps many more years to come. However far the future may seem, one certain thing is that, it will surely come. The surprising fact is that it takes people unawares most of the time.

Since the future will always come with the tickling of the hands of the clock, no matter how much its covered in the cloak of uncertainty , then the most important thing is to be prepared when it comes.

Getting yourself prepared for the future is highly important like Abraham Lincoln said “I will study and wait opportunity will surely come”. This quote unlocks some truths about the future.

(i). The Future Unlocks opportunity: The future is always full of resplendent opportunities, this is the positive driving force behind life and the most high flyers know this and as such they never waste their energy on the disappointments of the past, take a cue from them. Draw your lessons from the past, pay close attention to the present with a clear focus that the future is always replete unlimited opportunities.

(ii). You have to Study: Yes! You heard me right, Study. A bowler once said, “the secret to my great game is I do not focus on where the ball is but I go to where the ball will be”. What a unique lesson! You should always do the same. You must study what is the position of things now and what the trend will be in the future, you must have both the microscopic and telescopic view of things. Study the trend!

(iii). Wait for the future: This is an ironical and paradoxical part of the whole process, You will need to wait for the future to come, however, waiting doesn’t connote a state of idleness No! It simply reveals the need for both a high degree of patience and preparation. You need patience to get settled and conserve your precious resources of time, efforts and energy, while you need a great deal of preparation in terms of strategic planning, clear thinking, active goal setting and above all fervent prayers to be positioned for the opportunities of the future.

(iv). Step into the Future: You have studied, planned , strategized and even prayed. Now is the time to take action. In the same way an athlete prepares for a race, you have spent a great deal of time preparing and you are aware the future holds myriad of opportunities you have always waited for, your main aim now is to step into it and achieve all you have ever dreamt of.

If you have done your homework carefully well, then you will be ready and will wear a broad smile when the future arrives with opportunities presenting themselves to you.

So I challenge you to put forth your right foot and take a great leap of faith because the FUTURE IS HERE!

There has been a popular notion, that the best way to hide information from a black man is to put it in a book. I am sure those who propagated this saying must have studied the poor reading habit of the average African man. They believe most Africans would rather spend time before their television sets than sitting down to pore over the pages of a book. This old idea might be true, but I believe it can actually be changed in today’s world. We Africans can change our attitude to learning, we can cultivate a lifestyle of winners by reading .I believe young people and adults can change the attitude to learning and reading through the following steps, summarized in the acronym of ‘READ’.

• Read a book every month; Make-up your mind to read at least one good book every month. It could be on any of such topics as health, science, politics, motivations, sports or biography..Whatever topic or subject you choose, reading a book every month adds to your repertoire of knowledge and your vocabulary.

• Empower Yourself with Relevant information: To stay relevant you must be informed. We are in the era of information, in which information travels in amazing speed and knowledge is priceless. To be in touch, one must constantly be open to the right source of information. Read the newspapers, magazines and even signposts. Keep track of the current trend of knowledge.

• Acquire the right skills: There certain skills necessary for your success in your chosen career or in your prospective field. Discover these skills and acquire them. Attend trainings, seminars and read good books that put this into perspective

• Develop yourself personally: Finally, you need to commit your time and effort to your personal development. Never stop growing. The room of improvement is the largest room in the world. Always look out for ways to become better. There are a lot of books dedicated to the aspect of personal development and cultivating a successful lifestyle.

Reading a book can always be a form of self education and entertainment as the case may be.

However I believe taking this tips into account will break any limit of ignorance completely!

I have wanted to write this for a while now, although I had read the book many months ago. The piece is indeed an interesting read. This book will not teach you how to make money, but it will show you some traits and characteristics of the rich and wealthy milieu.

The book starts with a Dedication, and introduction which explains the basic reasons behind the writing of the book,-This is coined the Five billion reasons Why you should read This Book, here Donald tries to fill us in on what has happened since 1987 since The Art of The Deal was first published. Here he mentioned two business rules: Business Rule #1: If you don’t tell people about your success, they probably won’t know about it and Business Rule #2: Keep it short, fast, and direct.

7 Important Points to Note about Great People

One important thing on your way to greatness is to study those who have gone there and been there. Therefore, some important points that are worthy of note about great people are shared here: to study greatness it is important to study the lifestyle of great people.

1. Great people believe in their education: All through history, men who acquired greatness had been men of good education and learning, either formal or informal. Great people believe that knowledge is power and as such they pay great attention to acquiring knowledge at all cost.

A very good example of this is Chief Obafemi Awolowo (from Nigeria). He lost his father at a tender age, his determination to get quality education made him never quit until he achieved his utmost dream of becoming a lawyer through determination and relentless hard work.

2. Great people are known for hard work: Men of substance are never loafers; they put a great deal of their time to working smart on their goals. They are given to hard work and are committed to making their dreams come true by doing something daily that brings them closer to the achievement of their dreams.

3. Great people are known for passion and desire: Our people of interest are known for dreaming. This doesn’t connote a state of idleness and wishful thinking, No! Great people picture exactly what they want, what they need, how and when exactly they want to achieve it. They know they want and don’t give up on them.

4. Great people are focused: Focus is a very powerful tool and great men understand this. Many great people know what they want and they go all out for it, they are never distracted instead they keep making efforts. They do not accept the second best; they keep their eye on the target. They never quit. When all our mental, intellectual and material resources are channeled towards a singular goal it becomes more possible to achieve.

5 .Great people believe in themselves: Men who rise to greatness always believe in their greatness. They do not allow people or situations to judge or limit them. They always believe they can and will rise to the top. They also believe in the greatness of others. Always believe in yourself. Yes, You can

7. Great people believe in God: Great men believe there is a divine entity that reigns in the affairs of men by whose great power the heavens and earth were made, and by which the whole world is held in its course. Men of true greatness believe this omnipotent being is the Almighty God

These are great traits from the lifestyle of great men which I believe you. You are an edifice of greatness capable of extraordinary greatness; you are wired to achieve amazingly great things.

DO NOT EVER GIVE UP!

Have you ever felt you were at the cross roads, have you ever felt things were closing up on you too fast? When you think you have come to your wit’s end.

When you feel you are at a tight corner and It appears you have gotten to the end of the rope…that is when you must remember you need not throw in the trowel. Do all you can, but Never, ever, Give Up!

Why will you, and why should you ever think of giving up?

When there is nobody to praise you, all you can do for yourself is brace up. Do not give in, when you think all is lost, because life is not a relay race. Instead, it is a marathon race and it will never be over until it is, over.

Why should you waste away brooding when you can wait and do some grooming? Perhaps, your time to shine is just some seconds away.

Just like the treasure miner, never stop hitting at the rocks you might just be some inches away from the raw gold.

Did I hear you say the sky is your limit?

No, not when you refuse to give up, for the sky is meant to be your starting point, it is the play ground of champions, the very place where Eagles soar. You are the ‘You’ that makes you who you are! So why do you think you are not important or when was the last time you met your exact duplicate?

Why are you limited to what you see only because you don’t use your imagination? There is more to you than meets the eyes ~you are a king.

Why should you be bothered by what they think you are, when they’ve got no hold on the manuals of your life? |It’s high time you stopped wondering what you are not and start awakening to what you really are~ a giant, a god or goddess, hero(ine), Yes! That is what the Book says you are. You are the eighth wonder of the world; a city set upon a hill you can never be hidden!

The creator has made for you the paint, your mind is the canvass and here is the brush for you to use...Paint carefully my dear it’s a legend of Greatness!

A LESSON FROM THE 9/11 EVENT!

On a Tuesday, on September 11, 2001, 19 hijackers took control of four American and United Airlines flights and caused a great terror.

Today marks the 11th memorial of a gory event that caught the attention of the whole world and affected many lives in no small disastrous measure.

Today, I choose to send my warm greetings to friends and families of those who were affected directly and indirectly by the terrorist act.And I also write to salute the sense of calm,courage and great faith with which a great people and nation-America forged ahead and fought terror in their best possible way.

............

In life too, no matter what comes our way~even the unexpected,we need great faith, and a deep sense of hope to forge ahead as individuals and as people from nations of the world, into the unforeseeable future. Times like this require exceptional virtues and a great message of hope, can never be overemphasized in facing these challenges.
