WHAT DID YOU LEARN IN CHURCH TODAY?


I shared something lovely on my Facebook page on Sunday, Please enjoy the post below :

When I began to awake to the consciousness of going to church as a child, for some part of that time growing up with my grandparents in Ibadan, Oyo state in Nigeria.
My grandma would ask me “what did you learn in church today?" every Sunday.
I enjoyed the Sunday service majorly because I had been spending most of the time running around the church block with some other kids then.
So each time my grandma asked this question, I had a default answer that never changed every Sunday.... Children ehn!
Every Sunday I had my default answer

Meaning...
“Church was great today, they taught us not to steal and not to tell lies"
Of course, that changed after I learnt to read, and had more Bible understanding...
Today was a great day in Church
It was a Young Adult Sunday and an array of programs including songs, word and drama sessions.
We bless God for taking all the glory.
The theme was "Excelling in God's Time table..." and my take away were:
* God is a God of time and Season, He created time and does everything for a reason in a season
* God has His time-table and agenda
* His Plans for us are great plans
* Do not run ahead of God
* God's Spirit through the Word of God will give you access into His sense of time and purpose for you.

ISN'T IT FUNNY HOW WE ALLOW ETHNICITY BECLOUD OUR JUDGEMENT?



Isn't it funny how we allow ethnicity becloud our judgement?
This morning on my way to work.
I opted for the tricycle at some point instead of a bike.
While on the tricycle the aggrieved rider shared with myself and two other ladies on board the ordeal he has been going through with the 'agbero' - touts at his park, he complained of how each rider is compelled to pay a sum of #1750 daily for "tickets".
While we all wondered about who accounts for the free money they extort from the over 100 riders at the park daily and the reason they fight and kill for positions, the lady beside me answered,
" they will siddon there and be making free money, Yoruba men are very lazy"
Then she looked around and apologized to any Yoruba in the tricycle.
I smiled and told her, I am Yoruba (Yoruba is a tribe from western Nigeria and is one of the 3 major tribes in Nigeria, Hausa,Igbo and Yoruba) but I explained to her that I have friends and contact from diverse cultures who are of great personality.
I told her people are just people no matter where they are from, they can either choose to be good , great or bad.
Generalisations and assumptions limit us from thinking globally and objectively. It forms limiting beliefs which cut people off from vast opportunities.
Think about people whose family disapproved their choice of mate because of ethnic reasons or people who pulled out of profitable ventures because such myopic reasons.
Don't you think this is a great malaise that plagues the very fabric of our society today?
Why do many people have this myopic view?

You are already a Success !
One of the key practices that enhances the psychology of champions is self talk and visioning
High achievers don't only talk right (power-talk) or engage in healthy affirmations but we also deliberately envision success by reminding ourselves of past victories, success and replicating it.
You have succeeded in the past, you have won in the past, you have made great deals and decisions in the past. You are already a success.
What you need to do right now is relive and replicate those moments.
Choose your memories; relive the "Moments of Greatness" in your life.
Remember the interviews and exams at which you excelled, the great sales you closed, successful projects you initiated and completed, remember lots of money you made or had entrusted into your hands, remember the lives you touch in positive ways.
Feel those moments and experiences, let your self-talk proceed from them and bring that consciousness to your day's task, plans and goals.
Act from the place of power!
Take God's power and gifts in you to the centre of your life's work where the need is greatest.

My inquiry into personal finance started  right as an undergraduate and for me it has been an evolving journey , the interesting thing  for me now is that I am not going it alone.  The best way to go far is to take as many people as possible with me.
Today I continue to take as many people as possible with me by always sharing ideas and strategies on personal and financial mastery. This is the reason why I love helping as many people as possible raise their financial intelligence on their journey to financial freedom.

I first came in contact with Reverend Sam Adeyemi’s resources by radio programme as a secondary school student. Everyday I would anticipate learning valuable insights that he shared at 7am on SuccessPower on OSBC Radio, just before I finally leave for school.
After that I have read a couple of Pastor Sam’s book, and I currently have been privileged to attend one of his live seminars. Each time I encounter his material,  I take practical steps.
Start from With What You have with Sam Adeyemi was a book I read as an undergraduate on the 22nd of February,2009. The zeal to apply what I learnt then made me begin  a book blog and a small book sales business on weekends when on break from my job as an Electrical Engineering intern.
Here I have scribbled a few vital lessons i has penned down from the book.

*      You cannot finish what you have not started

*      What you want will always be inside what you have
*      God will always use what you have to create what you want
*      Man sees things the way they are but God sees them the  way they could be (Job 8:7)
*      There is something in you that the whole world needs. Find it, Develop it, give it commercial value
*      When God puts a seed in your life, He creates a need for that seed. In fact, God usually puts the seed in you because there is already a need in the world.
*      Opportunity eludes so many people because they look too far from it.
