SPIRITUALITY POST: Extend Forgiveness by Joel Osteen

Today’s Scripture
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...”
(Luke 23:34, KJV)

When you’ve been hurt or offended, sometimes it’s tempting to hold on to unforgiveness. But we have to remember, when people wrong us, our battle is not against flesh and blood. In other words, that person who hurt you is not the real enemy. The Bible says that your adversary is the devil, and he knows that if you don’t forgive, then your prayers won’t be effective. Unforgiveness puts up a barrier in your life to the power of God. In fact, if we don’t forgive others, we can’t be forgiven by God. But when you choose forgiveness, you open the door for God’s healing power to flow through your life.

Disarm the enemy in your life today by choosing forgiveness. Bless those who curse you and pray for those who wrong you. Look at what Jesus did—when He was betrayed, beaten, mocked and disrespected, He chose forgiveness. As you follow His example, you will open the door for God to move in your life, and you’ll live in victory in every area of your life!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for forgiving me and giving me new life. I choose today to extend the gift of forgiveness to others. I bless those who have wronged me and ask You to heal every broken place in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

THE FIVE Ws

Navigating with Questions.THE 5 Ws.
Nice to be back, I have been away answering vital questions and to some helping others do same.
This is the final phase in the series on navigating with the right questions.
We have looked at using the power of 'Why'. In this piece we will look at navigating your paths and giving clarity to your goals with the 5 Ws.
The 5 W's  are What, Who, WhereWhen and When. We will look at them one at a time. Let's take for instance that I set a financial goal to make $10,000 monthly, then I can begin to use each of the 5 Ws to evaluate this goal.
1.What? This question gives more clarity as to the specific nature of the goal. What goals do I want to achieve and what will I do achieve it? From the example above, the goal is $10,000.
2.When? This helps address the question of Time or frequency with respect to the goal at hand. When do you want the $10,000? Now from our example our goal is to make $10000 monthly.

3.Where? This answers the questions of location, areas or angle with respect to achieving. Where is this money coming from, where will I make the $10,000 from ? A simple yet generic answer to this is here or there, where you are now.
4.,Who? This answers the question of people. No man is an island and every great feat is usually achieved by a great team. Who is or are the set of people vital to the achievement of your goals? For our $10,000 example, WHO are the people necessary to help or assist in achieving the financial goal.? The likely answers are, people who have or are currently living this reality, mentors, investors, business teams or partners.
5. The Why? Here again we examine the reason, the 'why' this is the basis of your desire to achieve your goal. It is your motivation for achieving this goal and it keeps you going where every other thing changes.
NB. These 5 Ws will help provide certain measure of clarity to your goals and generally considering  How? Answers the question of skill or strategy with regards to each of them in view of your goals.

THE POWER OF WHY 1

It is not only enough to ask the right questions; we must also be open to receive  and act on positive feedback.

How Crazy are you about your dreams? How badly do you want them?.
When asking questions about your goals or situation, one key tool is to use the  WHY STRATEGY. I understood this strategy more at a technical  training recently as shared by an articulate and interesting Romanian friend and facilitator.
To get to the root of it, Ask ' WHY?' and answer this till you are 5 levels deep. For instance, Why am I not making a billion dollars in my business? Because I have not been doing 'X', Why have I not been doing X? Because I do not know something about X? Why don't I know something about X? Because Y has not been planned out...Why??

The "WHY Strategy" takes you deep down into the root of the problem at hand. This is a great tool in Root Cause Analysis.
And when the root cause is known you can start acting and doing something about it!
We will see more techniques tomorrow by God's grace.

ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

It's a great day ! The truth is no man  rises above the level of his own thinking. When we ask certain questions, we channel our thoughts in certain directions.
When we ask the right questions we channel our lives along the right directions especially when followed with appropriate actions. I will explore this in details this week.
Asking the right questions provide more clarity, sharpens your focus and gives your subconscious mind a level of information to provide needed feedback on.
Do you have goals that make you lose your appetite or audacious dreams that keep you up in the middle of the night? Now is the time to start asking the right  questions about them, in the next article we will explore more techniques as regards this process.

10 LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF AN UNCOMMON MENTOR (NAOMI).

SPIRITUALITY: 35 GREATNESS KEYS FROM THE BOOK OF RUTH

10 LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF AN UNCOMMON MENTOR (NAOMI)

A Mentor is a life-coach, a life-line and a gateway to beautiful and uncommon possibilities. Naomi was an uncommon mentor.*

1. When you set out without God in the picture, you will end up looking for God in the picture and usually in the not too distant future.1*

2. Naomi had a strong resolve to return to God and to her own country and people. An uncommon mentor always understands the value of her own people; when the stakes are down, you are left with your own people.

3. Naomi had an uncommon faith in crisis time. An uncommon mentor has an uncommon faith in the time of crisis.

4. She was a woman of prayer and prayed with love for her daughter in laws. Great prayers always flow from a heart of love. Love wins, because God is Love. 4*

5. Naomi got overwhelmed enough to want to change her name in an instant of pain. Never change your name, or stop believing in your dreams because of the present crisis in your life, the darkness will pass but your name or dreams will reflect the choices you have made.5*

6. There is always a renewal, restoration that comes with returning 6*

7. Naomi was able to see and willing to help her protégé- Ruth create a beautiful picture only her is capable of entering. An uncommon mentor creates and connects you with an unimaginably great future.7*

8. Naomi taught Ruth the need to PUSH and the value of patience in the time of waiting. An uncommon mentor births in her protégé intangible but valuable qualities like patience. 8*

9. Naomi respected and taught Ruth the Rules of Protocol, etiquette and engagement. 9*

10.Naomi understood, chose to identify, celebrate and be grateful for the moment of greatness that God has brought her into. After all efforts, you will enter a moment of greatness, which you well deserve, relish it and stay in it with all gratitude.

SPIRITUALITY: 35 GREATNESS KEYS FROM THE BOOK OF RUTH

SPIRITUALITY: 35 GREATNESS KEYS FROM THE BOOK OF RUTH
17 LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF RUTH. Text. Ruth Chapters 1-4.
Ruth was a Moabite who had married one of Naomi’s Sons, when She and her family moved to Moab due to the famine in Israel. Below are 17 golden keys that can be observed from the life of this great woman.
1.Ruth was a woman in touch with her emotions. She did not hide or faker her feelings of loss and grief, rather, she let it all out.Ruth 1:8-9
2. Ruth was a woman of high integrity, she was true to her words, she meant what she said and said what she meant. Ruth 1:10,12,14.
3. She preferred and chose to explore the uncertainties of her future, than to be tied to the comfort of her present. Ruth 1:14.
4.She chose not to make a lasting, life-long decision based on the loss of the past. She had this “I will not shut the gate of the future based on the pain, grief or disappointment of the past” mindset. Ruth 1:14-15.
5.She understood that popular opinion isn’t always right. Ruth 1:15-16.
6.She had a strong resolve backed up by her faith in the God of her Mother-in-law, Naomi. Ruth 1:16.
7. She has been convinced and inspired by Naomi’s faith in crisis time. Ruth 1:6,21 Hebrews 13:7.
8. She believed and decided to follow the God of Israel no matter what. Ruth 1:17
9. She was proactive. She exercised initiative and was ready to deploy her survival instinct rather than a pitiable victim mentality. She went out to glean. Ruth 2:2.
10.Ruth was an uncommon protégé who cleaved to an uncommon Mentor- Naomi.
11. She was a woman who valued insight and relevant information chapter 2:1.
12. She never hesitated in asking for necessary favour and she was grateful when she received it. Ruth 2:7
13. She was diligent at gleaning; she gleaned from morning Ruth 2:7,
14. Sacrifice and kindness always attracts unmerited favour, respect and more kindness. Ruth 2:8-11.
15.The threshold of gleaning is the pathway to the fulfillment of purpose. Ruth 2:15-18.
16. Consistent, diligent gleaning is the pathway to greatness. Ruth 2:21-13; Ruth 3:11;4:13
17.Ruth understood and respected the law of protocol.
• She valued and obeyed the instruction of an uncommon mentor.3:1-5
• She understood the purpose and power of dressing for greatness. Ruth 3:3
• She conducted herself with decency and dignity. 3:10,14.
I believe we could learn one or more things from these lessons shared from the life of Ruth.
Watch out next week for more lessons from the book of Ruth.

Cheers!
